xandrew25xs DIY led build

Instead of putting an external dimmer switch in, I'm going to put a DDC-01 PWM Controller on. I will adjust the led string brightness from each driver until I have them at the ratio I like.
The controller is really cool because i can set it on a timer right when my moonlights turn off to simulate a sunrise, then it will do its 8 hours of daytime and then go into a sunset in which my nightlights will then turn on.

If you get that controller make sure and get the 60-48P drivers and not the D drivers.
Yep, thanks for looking out for me!

Have you looked at the Dim4 by any chance? It's supposed to be fully programmable. Set your own times. Or the Typhon, perhaps. I know it still works with the ELN P's.

The Typhoon is what im planning on for my parents build but still holding out on it to see if it will work on the HLGs im gonna use.

No, I haven't look at them. Would I not need a timer then since they are programmable?
Can they be set to mimic a sunrise to sunset?

Yes, the controllers both have 4 independent channels so you can control at least 4 drivers independently. You can set your own times, you can also set the time you want sunrise and sunset to start fading as well as the length and intensity over the duration of that time.
The Typhon is actually cheaper $55 and should work with the ELN P's.
The Dim4 is about $90 and should work with the ELN D's.

Just 4 drivers independently, can it handle more than 4 drivers?
I don't like that it should work with the drivers, I would hate to buy it and it not work.

It has 4 independent channels. You can run multiple drivers on each channel. So either 1-4 drivers independently or 4 banks of X amount of drivers independently.
And that's why we should always do our research. I think you'll confirm the above to be true. But the only way you'll know for sure is to try. Not trying to persuade you. Just pointing you towards some possible options for you.

Well, I honestly like it, because for the same price I can get a controller that can run my blues, whites, and my moonlights and program them to turn on and off when I want, and sunrise and sunset when I want.
I think thats a win win situation in my book.

Which driver would it work with, the 60-48P, or the 60-48D.
The Dim4 has an analog 10v signal for dimming drivers. It would be best suited for the 48D's.
Typhon uses a modulated 10v signal for dimming drivers. And it would require the 48P's.
The Dim4 also has separate 12v outputs for controlling fans. You can do this with the Typhon too but you wouldn't get any more than 10 volts max to supply your fans so they'd never be able to hit peak speed. But really a 2 volts difference is pretty small. You're not sacrificing much. I think the Dim4 is probably a more flexible controller right now and will work on a wider range of meanwell drivers.

I like the typhon controller, good price, and it seems like it can do everything I want and more.
By what I read it can controller 4 separate drivers, so I could set it to turn my moonlights on at a certain brightness, then turn them off and go into a sunrise effect, then daytime, sunset and back to moonlights. Correct?

You can control 4 separate channels. In other words you can have multiple drivers on each channel so you can have your blues on one, whites on another, moonlights, and another channel for other colors or running fans.

Due to a couple reasons, I decided to hold off on my led build, and just use my T5 lights for a while.
Hope things work out for ya so you can do it sometime.

Thanks, I just did a little more research and talked to a friend about them, and i'm honestly not to impressed with them anymore, maybe down the road when they are proven to be better, i'll take the plunge and spend the money on it.
