Right now, there is nothing in my tank but live rock, and as of now it has no yellowing color. I think i'm going to go with 6 cools and 6 nuetrals, I can always change them later if I don't like them I guess.
I talked to my fiance and shes really urging me to build these lights, so I guess I should really to it ;)

Either Way once the blues are turned on you wont notice any yellowish color. Most people i know dont run the whites without the blues on. I do still plan on a 2:1 mix of royal blue and regular blue though to help round out that range of the spectrum.

Well the guys at rapid are cool, and they said I can pretty much put any color led I want into my order. So I'm thinking about maybe using a few regular blues, the rest royal, 6 cool white, 6 neutral white.

Sounds like a good place to start. Thats pretty much the same combo that Meowzer is using and she seems pretty happy with it.

Thank you! I hope the 1" strips are wide enough for the stars to fit on, I just now realized how big the stars are. My aluminum strips are 1" wide.

Okay awesome, I was looking at the dimensions of the actual led...and didn't realize that until now, that it wasn't the star. At least it works out still!

So, I was thinking since this fixture will be exposed to water evaporation, do you think using nylon nuts and bolts would be a good idea?

I think they temporarily took them down because of the problems that me and a couple of other people were having with the compatibility in regards to some of the meanwell drivers.
They were actually created for a diy project and never intended to be sold commercially. You can eithr build one yourself or maybe check ebay. If not then looknto the Dim4.

Ive been reading up on building one myself on the big forum. My problem is getting a pair of the boards and getting all of the stuff to put on the boards.

What kind of board do you need to build one? I don't really wan to go with the dim4 because of the price.
I may just drop the idea of a controller and use a manual dimmer switch and put them on timers.

The file for the boards the typhon is built on can be found on the big site. I can send you the file link after awhile if you want to look at it. It was designed to be sent to a shop to have the board cut for ya and then you can put all the parts on it yourself. They said you can build one for 20-35 bucks for the total project. Ive been thinking I may do that route anyways just because I like the thought of being able to say ,I built it.
