I ve heard that the Sony will be far better, but the X-box is comming out in nov -dec, where the sony isn't comming out until spring 06.
I will buy the x-box when it comes out then probally trade it in when the sony comes out.

Where the heck did you hear the new playstation would be better??
All around the xbox is a bit more capable.
Lets put aside bias opinions and look solely at the specs.
Xbox 360 makes the ps3 look like a commodore 64. ok maybe not that bad but at least like a 7800 Atari. lol
The new playstation hardly even will be as powerful as the current xbox let alone the new 360. The spec sheet of both the 360 and the Playstation3 look like something out a science fiction book. The 360 will be running not one, not two, but THREE 3.2 processors. The PS 3 on has ONE!! The 360 is so advanced we don’t even have software available yet that can push the 360 to its limits. They are already gearing DOWN some of the games being made for the 360 just so they can be ported over to the new playstation when it comes out.
I think they are both great systems BUT the ONLY reason the ps2 is more popular then the current xbox is because it has more games and has been out longer. As far as specs go the ps2 is not even close be being able to produce the graphic levels that the xbox can. That’s why games made just for xbox can’t be played on the playstation without being drastically down graded. And it’s also why when games come from playstation to the xbox the makers boast about new better graphics because they were able to boost it up for the better system. The same goes for the new systems coming out
So both systems will be great but pound for pound the 360 is more capable.
Personally I’m sure I will end up owning both But I think Xbox is going to have a HUGE jump in there market share this time around.

2.5GB/s (read)
System Floating Point Performance:
2 TFLOPS

Memory Stick: Standard/Duo, PRO x 1
SD: standard/mini x 1
CompactFlash (Type I, II) x 1

So, it has a hot swappable slot for a 2.5" (laptop) hard drive. Also 6 USB connectors, I think you can use 4 of them at a time. PLUS, you can use 7 bluetooth controllers at once. Two HDMI outputs, so you can hook it up to TWO HDTVs at once. You can also hook up any USB mini drive to it and use it for a memory card. Also will take Sony Memory sticks, SD and CF cards.
Also, I can't remember the exact name of it, but the original XBox could show about 2½ million bit per pixel, or something along those lines. The XBox 360 does 9 million. PS3? 55 MILLION. 'Nuff said.

Your pulling from a none official spec sheet my friend. although that is very close to what was said at E3 press conference on monday. that sheet is from before the official was released and even now it is still being altered.
The problem is parts of the ps3 are capable of doing great things but other parts are not capable able of keeping up. So it null and voids certain high points. again they will both be great but side by side the 360 out performs. just like the current xbox does the ps2.
roger mondel has already been able to preveiw and confirmed this.

Ok, but if you're saying its still changing, then how can they demo a full and complete PS3 if its not the final spec? Considering there's still a year before the PS3 hits the mass market, there's probably going to be a lot more tweaking.
And as far as the spec sheet is concerned, that's all pulled from everything that was confirmed at E3. So, unless they're blowing smoke at E3 and none of its true, which I highly doubt, those are the specs.

the ps3 that is"demo" with several top advisers of course is not the final product but its give you a good idea as to where they are headed. at E3 i personaly think they ALL leave out certain things. microsoft has to be carful since Sony will have nearly a full eyar to make changes to top the 360. and Sony wil also have to be carful becasue the xbox is so upgradable that they can quickly come out with somthing to top the playstation.
i dont think we TRULY know for sure untill they are both in the store. so really I guess we are all blowing smoke of some sort.

Sorry, and for the numbers I was talking, its called dot product operations. Current Xbox does 2½ billon, XBox 360 does 9 billion and PS3 does 55 billion.
As for the processor, sure it may have 3 PowerPC cores in it (sort of funny since its Microsoft on a Mac core), but they've got the 2nd ranking graphics producer. The graphics processor in the PS3, which will probably be a new GeForce, is pretty much two cores on top of each other.

i am torn between these 2 systems having a PS2 now. and playing on a xbox for the past 6 months..
i dont think there will be a clear decision on which is better until the PS3 comes out and is played along with the xbox... as all system battles have gone in the past and continue to do .. both will have strong points and weak points
just my 2 pennys

I just so happen to be wearing my Xbox shirt right now. =P I have never had anything against the PS2, but when it came down to choosing between the two when I had the option of getting one, I chose Xbox and have never regreted it (I'm the proud owner of a launch 'box. Woo!). The PS3 and Xbox 360 seem to both be worthy consoles, but my heart belongs to Xbox. :D

Probably not until they have a set date for release. Once the release date has been announced, you can go to a store and pre-order it most likely.

no store around me is yet. i think they need to have an exact release date before they can take preoders/ they also have not released the price tag

Take this for what it's worth. My buddy works at Target and he said there going to take Pre-orders on XBOX 360 he didn't say when it was going to start but he did say the price was 249.00..

I would be surprised if Sony competes with a less powerful system again.
But 3 processors, how do you top that.
Ps2 has the games, and the xbox has the graphics.
Probably end up with both again.
250 i hope so. I know most of their profit is from software.

there is a rummer running around the gamer boards that says that they will have a 360 "pack". 360 bucks and you get extra controler ,bigger hard drive ,subsciption to online and a special edition halo 2.5 with added graphics and bonus features. might be rumer might be fact guess we will ahve to wait and see
