Hi, I purchased this stuff from supplier at garden supply shop...He didn't have it in stock but said he would order it for me if I would by the whole pallet, as he can get regular sand much cheaper...Now all of a sudden he says he couldn't get anymore, so I called OLD Castle and they told me that the sand was discontinued....I think the lady told me that they had lost their supplier...If you want some let me know how much and I will put it away for you because I'm getting VERY low and I want be able to get anymore...

Is all your sand gone? I live in colorado and your two box mailing solution would work well for me. I just came across this thred in search of a southdown-yardright source
If Old Castle no longer can provide this sand where will we be able to get it in the future?
Did the woman you talked to have any info. about that. Carib sea aragamax sells for alot in colorado!

That's too bad it is all gone. It was nice of you to go through all the hastle of repacking and sending it to everyone. It was a great idea to use those usps boxes like that. Let us know if you can find some more.

when looking at yardright's webite for tropical play sand i read this.....note the not suitable for aquarium systems warning on their website.
Helpful Tip. Since YardRight™ Tropical Play Sand has been purified at high temperatures before packaging, be sure to add some moisture to return it to its natural state. Moist sand makes for better sandcastles. Not suitable for aquarium systems and traction purposes.

I'll bet they have to disclaim aquarium use so as not to be liable if something goes wrong with someones tank. People have been using this sand, which used to be called southdown play sand, for over 5 years. I would be interested in at least 3 bags, more if my wife and I go to visit my brother-in-law this July in South Carolina and I can pick them up. Did you order 350 bags last time? Thats alot of bags to get rid of.

I will keep you guys updated...I'm not for sure the guy I'm getting it from knows that this sand has been discontinued...But maybe it will come through...I didn't get that much the last time...Just one pallet which was covered in dust, looked like it had been sitting in storage for years...I had to wipe the black dust off of it just to tell what it was...This stuff is getting really hard to find...If I get some more you guys will be the first to know...Thanks
