Because, I think it's Coral Seas, has an exclusive agreement with Southdown/Tropical to market their sand for aquariums :D

so thay are the same but becouse of a agreement thay just use other names and bags. I have only seen the tropical sand.
I tryed to look at your tank under construction site but it will not work did not know if you Know.

how can you tell which types of sand are ok for aquariums? cuz i live in Canada and not sure if our Home Depots will carry either brands. What should i look for?

Thanks Osolow, yes I know the site is down right now. My host raised their prices and I had to change, just haven't had the time to move everything back online.

i jsut called my local Home Depot and they got some quickrete, so i think ill pick some up tomm and check for southdown sand
