Yellow tang diet

:notsure:
Here's kind of a wierd one. Just got a yellow tang about two weeks ago, and find that its eating the brine shrimp that we feed our clown fish with. Is that normal? I can't find any place where they mention tang's eating anything but greens and the like.
Just curious.
Thanks.

A yellow tang should eat brine shrimp, but in the wild they are grazers and mostly eat algae. So what I'd do is get some green seaweed from your LFS and put it on a clip in the tank so that the yellow tang can graze on it as he pleases.

a Tang (yellow/purple/sailfin/pallette) will eat anything once established. Just make sure you continue to feed it seaweed/algae food to help keep it's color bright!!
