One of the benefits of a Ca reactor is that it will dose minor trace elements along with Calcium and Carbonate. This is because most reactor media is made of old coral skeletons that contain these elements in the same ration that stoney corals consume them.
I do not run a reactor on my tank but I see the potential benefits.

Hey Bang Guy,
Do you just do the kalk drip (or kalk top off)? Would you consider the reactor or is that just a waste of money if the drip is working? Your opinion...

I would immediately put a reactor into operation on my reef if someone gave me one. Until then limewater meets all of my needs.
Using both is ideal. They work very very well together.
