Yuma Reproducing?

I bought a couple of Yuma Ricordeas a couple of months ago and love them. One of them has been moving around the rock and has already spawned a few new mushrooms this way.
During the past couple of weeks I've noticed what seems to be a small piece of the mushroom floating around the tank. Is this another way for them to reproduce or could it be something my clean up crew is doing to it?

I have not heard of them reproducing in that way. If it were me I would catch the bits in the water column and raise them seperately in a moderate flow area until you can get the pieces to attach to a rock.
