I am trying to pick out Some t5s for my 55 gallon tank, has anyone had these? They are on this website. The 48'' 2 buld fixture, 54 watts per bulb, is the one im thinking of getting. Im thinking of getting 2 of these and that would put my total watts at 216. How many watts of light would i need for medium light corals, like zoas ecs......? Also any suggestions on t5s? Odyssia looks really cheap but i guess you get what you pay for....

I just bought an Odyssea 20" for my 10G.....Should get it tomorrow.....
BUT...the ones you are referencing are not the best either....you would want to replace the bulbs for better ones....and remember you will not be able to keep anything that needs much more then medium light

i just read some other threads about these lights(zoo med) from awile ago and basicly there junk.......... they said to go with a 4 to 6 bulb fixture, all of witch cost 4 to 6 hundred dollars, i guess i need to start saving (might as well save and get a good fixture for the DT tank so that i dont haft to upgraid agian later)

This is the right approach.

How about the tek light? 4 bulb t5, each bulb is 54 watts. only $253.

Determine what you ultimately want in your tank first. Then research what equipment you need to satisfy the requirements of your wish list.
THEN try to find the best deal on your equipment choice. Looking first for a deal then hoping it will suit you needs is doing it bass ackwards.
This hobby ain't cheap.

yep, this is why i thought the tek light would be ok for what i wanted at the moment, medium light corals such as zoas, mushrooms, ecs... BUT if i ever wanted an anemone, then this light would not be ok so maby i should start saving anyways.

Believe me, I feel your pain, but do you want to buy 2 light fixtures or just 1?
I learned the hard was as many others here have that if you go cheap at first, you're never satisfied and will soon buy what you should have bought in the first place. Getting the right thing first SAVES you money in the long run.
