    My 300Gallon

I love the room color to...our bedroom is similar to that color with white trim. We painted the tank white (it's in the bedroom), I really like the black though! Look forward to seeing your progression.

    Angelfish died, why?

I fed mine Spirulina as well as a variety of frozen foods. We have a Flame Angel in our 110 as well, he is awesome. He shreds the sea weed clip. I had to think back-I had the guy a YEAR and nine months, not just nine months. I will most likely get another Flame Angel for that tank... My...

    Angelfish died, why?

My Flame Angel died two days ago, and I had him 9 months! Everything else in the tank was normal, it made me sick. Only thing I did was remove a pair of Cardinals the day before to take home to my 110 because HE was nipping at them! I thought maybe the stress of the rock moving did it, I don't...

    "Finding Nemo"

I don't fully understand how Pixar works, but it is SO much better than traditional animation. IMO, the 'movement' was extremely realistic! The sound effects were amazing as well. Sounds like an interesting project, Killafins!

    Off-Topic Help please.....

Marinerock-so I'm told! I was not aware of that until we adopted the little darlings... Just for fun (sigh-I'm such a dog lover) I've attached a picture of my neighbors dog, "Bubba" he is a Rottweiler/Chow Chow mix (!) and the sweetest dog I've ever met. What a face!

    Boil my LR?

Thanks ya'll! I removed the rock yesterday and simply wiped off the algae :p I couldn't believe it came off that easy! As for the Aptasia, I'm to squeamish to blast it with anything, but I found a friend that will. Simply dropping it in boiling water is quite different! It's growing pretty big...

    Boil my LR?

I'm afraid to get Peppermint Shrimp because I have a CBS and a Long Nose Hawkfish... The hair algae came about following a disaster several months ago (my heater malfunctioned and wiped out my entire tank, except a False Percula Clown). When I re-stocked several weeks later (I almost sold my...

    Boil my LR?

I've got a small piece of LR in my 45 gallon with Aptasia and Hair Algae. My Flame Angel won't touch the algae because of the Aptasia. I'm thinking about boiling the rock to get rid of the entire problem...It started out a minor nuisance, it's becoming an issue now! Since boiling kills...

    What is your dream tank?

MoaroonClownFan- I don't know for sure, a lot of people down here have them. When we get one:) it will be salt simply because the chlorine is devastating to hair and skin (I'm a hairdresser, I HATE that) ;)

    Nitrates! Can't get them down!!!

Mystery Solved!!! I would be mad, but I'm so happy we figured it out! We took our well water in to the LFS to have it tested the first time, and the result was 0 Nitrates. We tested it again today (twice), and guess what? Nitrates!!! I'm a little miffed that it was wrong the first time, but glad...

    Nitrates! Can't get them down!!!

We are useing well water-had it tested, 0 Nitrates. The sand bed is deep in places but 150lbs. was not enough to make the entire bed deep. It's been two weeks since we added it. We thought another dramatic water change might help...but it didn't!

    Nitrates! Can't get them down!!!

We recently purchased a 110 gallon established tank (sight unseen) and had it moved to our house. It was so caked with algae, you could hardly see in it! We tested the paramaters, and the Nitrates were the only thing unacceptable, but they were off the charts! The substrate that came with it was...

    How important is a DSB?

Okay...so if 4" is technically a DSB, I'm half way there with most of the tank! My 45 gallon has about 2" and I just think it looks neat and clean. However, if we already have that much sand, AND it is beneficial, I am all for doing it. From what I gathered from all the information  this...

Is it necessary to buy Live Sand, or will Southdown suffice?
