You apparently don't watch ,uch TV. or see political ads online. At last count, Romney had Obama beat when it came to contributioons. Wait until his next year's income tax return. You think 10% EFT was low, wait until he writes off a couple billion in campaign donations....

I guess we can chalk up tax law to the list of things you aren't well versed in. You can't write off contributions to political campaigns. Oh, who had a 10% EFT? And in fact 0bama has raised and spent more than Romney. Dang, I guess your whole post was crap LOL!

Yeah, them mean ol bublicans who controlled both houses of Congress for 6 of his 8 years had nothing to do with it,
What cracks me up about that particular commercial is Clinton saying the Republicans want to go back the the kinds of deregulation that caused the financial meltdown. Well the main culprit was repeal of the Glass Steagall act, WHICH CLINTON SIGNED.

Romney did essentially. His 2011 tax return showed an EFT of 14.5%, but he left off around $4 - $6 million in other allowable contributions, which would've put his EFT around 9.8% - 10%. He knew he'd have to release the return, and if he'd taken every allowable deduction and posted that low of an EFT, he'd really get lambasted by the media. Instead he's portrayed as some "Tax Martyr" for paying more taxes than he should. Unfortunately for the Mormons, that's one less wing they can add onto one of their tabernacles.
I know you can't write them off. But Romney will just dump more money intoi his Cayman accounts to make up the difference.

You mean the Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act, also known as the Financial Services Modernization Act of 1999, written by the top three REPUBLICAN Senator's at the time...

Clinton supported and signed the bill. Democrats heavily favored the bill too The House passed its version of the Financial Services Act of 1999
on July 1, 1999, by a bipartisan vote of 343-86 (Republicans 205–16; Democrats 138–69)
The bill then moved to a joint conference committee to work out the differences between the Senate and House versions. Democrats agreed to support the bill after Republicans agreed to strengthen provisions of the anti-redlining Community Reinvestment Act and address certain privacy concerns; the conference committee then finished its work by the beginning of November. On November 4, the final bill resolving the differences was passed by the Senate 90-8,[sup] and by the House 362-57. [/sup]The legislation was signed into law by President Bill Clintonon November 12, 1999
But Nice try LOL!!!!

So leaving aside your incorrect numbers Romney's ETR was over 14%. The reason Romney didn't take 2 million of his allowable write off is it would have taken him just below the 13% effective rate he claims to have paid. It would have been over 12% with the full exemption. Personally I would have claimed the deduction but whatever. Oh, and yet again, there is a reason why we know about Romney's Caymans accounts. They were on his tax returns. Kind of hard to make the claim he was hiding money in his overseas accounts when we only know about them because he listed AND PAY TAXES ON THEM on his tax returns.
But again, nice try.

The Cayman accounts we know about. I've explained how easy it is to create accounts on that little island that could never be found for anyone to audit. Bain Capital had corporate seminars on how to utilize the Caymans for personal income.
Not sure where you're getting 12%. Every article I've read regarding this little debate would have his EFT closer to 10. Regardless, it just shows how the wealthy are able to utilize our current tax laws to save on their taxes that most lower/middle income taxpayers could never benefit from. Yea, yea we can all play the stock market game or invest in 401K's. The difference is having the disposable income to do so. Someone making $30K - $50K/year barely has enough to pay his bills, much less invest enough into accounts that would give him lower tax rates that would make a dramatic difference in his EFT. Shoot, Romney hasn't earned any income since 1999. If he pulled his $260 million (or whatever his fortune is) out of every investment account he has, and didn't earn capital gains on any of that money, he wouldn't even need to file a tax return. If he did, he'd have a negative EFT due to his religious ties of having to tithe at least 10% of his wealth to his little church.

You can't have a negative ETR unless you qualify for Earned Income or Child tax credits, Romney qualifies for neither.
Romney give more to non church charities in one year than your average middle class taxpayer with pay in taxes over his lifetime. I really have no issues with rich people people able to write off charitable contributions.
As far as hiding income how do you know 0bama doesn't do the same thing? There's no more evidence to suggest Romney does than there is on 0bamo, Reid or Pelosi for that matter.

You're right, I don't I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't. Romney just has a target on his back because he's not your "ordinary politician" when it comes to wealth. Sure there's plenty of other multi-millionaires in Congress, but the majority of them don't have a tenth of what Romeny has in the bank.
Romeny doesn't contribute to charities for a tax break. Many of his charities are tied to his religion in some form or fashion. I would never begrudge someone with wealth on how much they contribute, for whatever reason. It does signify that those that do contribute millions each year have some form of reality that their wealth is expansive to the point to where they don't really miss the money, and probably would never be able to spend all their money in their lifetimes. Bill Gates is a prime example. He's stated that the majority of his billions will go to charity after he dies. He's made it clear to his kids that they'll be well provided, but their inheritance will be a pittance comapred to what they'd get if he left it all to them.

Yup - the turd even has a "text link" set up to directly funnel the 10 bucks into the regime.. Last month or so I even heard that engaged couples could "register" with the regime (instead of a Dept. store) and have their guests donate the $$ again directly to the re-elect effort. What a bunch of classless ass maggots...... Just pathetic.... I didn't see Vlad Putin on his knees begging for $$ in his recent election bid.

Out of over 4 million Romney only gave 1.1 million to his church last year. John Kerry and his wife are worth more than Romney. If Romney's wealth is 250 million there are a dozen or so members of Congress worth more than a 10th what he is LOL!

Kerry and his ketchup magnate wife are estimated to be worth about 750 million

Maybe Obama needs to just follow Romney's lead and simply have more of these $50,000/plate "get together's". Based on your response, you sound like one of those trailer trash bible thumpers in the backwoods of Alabama.

Here's a nice comparative. When it comes to who gets higher amounts of private donations, Obama only gets 14% of contributions over $2,500, while Romney gets 48% of the same type if donations. Appears Obama gets the majority of his funding from his various SuperPAC's, those anonymous businesses whose employees contribute to a candidate that they normally wouldn't provide a donations to if they had to give them their personal funds. What's the most depressing is both candidates have amassed over $1.3 BILLION since this article was reported. Here people are complaining about wasteful government spending, and this year's Presidential election has thrown away probably more than $3 billion if you add all the money the other 7 or 8 Republican candidates spent this last year on their futile and failed attempts to win the Republican nomination.
