I know this is a popular fish for nano tanks... for those of you who have one, what do you feed it? The description on this site says that they eat live brine and plankton...

There are a few ways to block it... I picked up an 8x10 piece of plexi from Lowes for $1 and cut it to fit, then piled up LR rubble behind it to keep it pressed against the vents. Piece of cake.

it depends on the quality of your tap water. Some people's tap water is very good, some very bad. Mix up a small container of salt water using your tap water, then take it to an LFS and have them run a full battery of tests on it (or do the tests at home if you have all the kits) and see what...

LOTS of possible reasons, but the most common are: - over stocked - over feeding - bad source water your tank is also still very young, so it may still be cycling. Give us a rundown of your tank (amount of LR/LS, filters/media, fish, corals, lighting, etc.) and we might be able to offer more...

I think bioballs are good in new tanks as they cycle and then get established with livestock. However, in the long run they can cause nitrate problems and should be removed, or even better, replaced with LR rubble.

Yes, there are pros and cons to feed once vs twice a day. IMO, the kicker is the waste produced both from excess food in the water column and fish waste. If you really are feeding SMALL amounts twice a day, then you are probably fine, especially if you water tests well and you have no algae...

Since feeding is often a hot question, especially for people new to the hobby... how often do you feed your tank? -= EDIT =- Grrr - this was going to be a poll, but the max # of options for a poll is 2, I didn't think it would be all that helpful. Now I've got this useless thread sitting here...
