a guy who's into saltwater fish and tanks told me that I should get a cold sterile filter rather than a RO filter unit because its better for saltwater tanks. What are your opinions on this. thanks.

I've checked the back of the Yardright select playsand, and it says its manufactured/distributed by Southdown inc.

Im not sure if this is true, but it just poped into my head. If there is a sump installed inside the stand, won't the water that evaporates from the sump overtime start to damage the inside of the stand and make it weaker, and sooner or later may or may not collapse and destroy your tank? Let...

I've read on other forums and internet sites that one reccomends the Southdown tropical play sand and others reccomend the Yardright Select tropical play sand. Please clear this up for myself and others, which is the better to get? thanks. btw here is a pic of each. Yardright Select: Southdown:

are the overflow boxes that use a pump better than those that use gravity? I don't really want to buy another pump just to run that, cause im already going to have 2 one for the return and the other for the skimmer, and a 3rd one is just too much.

the pvc tubing is mainly going to be vertical. Im probably going to use the same size tubing throught.

well im thinking that since im going to use about 6 or 7 feet of tubing, the gph on the pump would drop down to about 1600 gph, as you can see in the little chart I posted in my previous post. So the overflow box and pump should be very close in pumping the same amount of gph. Or am i making...

i'm most certain im going ot get an external overflow box because the tank will not be pre-drilled. Also, is there such a thing as an internal overflow box?
