Does anyone have any pics of these MH lights set up, so I can check out what they look like? Also, I have heard that they give off a lot of heat, my tank is deep, would that matter?

Mine started fading away at about 6 weeks. Be patient, they will eventually be gone, just be sure to do your water changes often, I did mine about twice a week, now maybe once every two weeks. I really noticed the difference when I started using RO water. Untill they go away, you can wipe them...

The only substrate I have is CC. But considering moving some of that, and adding some good sized rocks.

The diatoms will probably come back untill your tank finishes cycling, but it is ok to wipe them off.

I know that must be terrible for those tangs, because mine gets freaked out when he sees his own reflection in the tank.

I've been at this for about 2 months, I've learned a lot from all the folks on the board, and still learning.

I know, I saw those package deals too. I was wondering about that myself. I thought it might be for people just starting tanks, but some of those fish are really too delicate to put in a new just cycled tank. I would think that would cause ammonia problems....but then again im still a newbie. :)

there are so many different types of lighting, i dont know which way to turn. is there any lighting that will benifit all forms of marine life, so that i dont have to keep changing?
