Tiny Tubeworms trying to take over the tank

I'll try to take a closer pic. They do have feathery tops, but I have never seen them retract them like our big tubeworms do. We have a 6-line wrasse, and an 8-line wrasse, but neither have shown an interest on snacking on these!

Tiny Tubeworms trying to take over the tank

Our 150 gallon reef tank is super healthy, but several months ago we noticed the appearance of some teeny tiny tube worms. At least that is what they look like. Long tubes running along the rock and itsy bitsy feather duster tops. "How cute!" we exclaimed, and they are! Trouble is, that rock is...

Trying to figure out the agressor

I knew Chromis would take one another out - but they would attack another species?

    Miniature Tube Worms

Well, they are really cool looking. There are so many of them it almost looks like coral until you get in close.

Trying to figure out the agressor

When Hurricane Ike came through in Sept, all of the animals in my 50 gallon tank got transferred to my Mom's 150 gallon tank (she had power, i didn't, and we had to act fast or lose them all. The battery backup I spent $75 on lasted about 2 hours and we were without power 5 days ) Once...

    Miniature Tube Worms

My Mom's tank has one rock that is just covered in teeny tiny tube worms - at least that is what they look like. They have loooooong grayish-white tubes that run over the rock or emerge from holes in the rock, and tiny feather-dusterish heads about the size of a pencil eraser. The feathers are a...

    3 questions

Firefish and clown went in on the same day, and I drip acclimated both of them. I got the false perc specifically because I wanted the less aggressive clown. I don't really have anything agressive in my tank, so maybe firefish died of shock... Yes, he was a purple one. Anyhow I have a FOWLR...

    3 questions

I have been in the hobby over a year now, but I have 3 new questions! 1. How do I know if an aquarium decoration is safe for saltwater? If I bought it for a freshwater tank ears ago, should I assume it is NOT saltwater safe? Or is there a way to tell? 2. I added a firefish to my tank 2 days ago...

    Stock Suggestion?

What about a Flame Angel? My mom has one and it's beautiful, but her tank is 150 gallons. So far I think we will get a firefish for sure, and a clown - which kind of clownfish do y'all think would be best? We would probably only get one, and it needs to get along. Is the Ocillarus the best bet?

    Flame Angelfish

My Mom bought a Flame Angel for her 150 reef tank, to clean up a sponge problem (she had hundreds of these little puffball sponges all over everything). The flame angels eradicated them in a week's time, and has been an excellent tank addition - he has not been agressive or nipped at the corals...

    Stock Suggestion?

I used to have a coral beauty and she did well, so a dwarf angelfish is a possibility. I am a little nervouse about the Gramma because I used to have another dottyback (a Springers) and it was terribly agressive. Are Royal Grammas better? I have never had firefish or clowns. I know about...

    Stock Suggestion?

I have a 48 gallon hexagonal FOWLR tank (closed system), and several months ago I lost all of my fish due to a malfunctioning powerhead. I put in a GFCI outlet, and a grounding probe, and have been rebuilding my tank. My inverts survived the shock. I have a purple lobster, a chocolate chip...

    Jasmine/Fox Coral

Worth a try! I will tell her to try moving it to a different location in the tank. I know she does not have a PH blowing directly on it, but the flow could certainly be high in the area.

    Jasmine/Fox Coral

Yeah, it appears to be slowly shrinking and we can see some of the skeleton now. I don't know her parameters right now, but I will try to get them. Tankmates include 1 yellow tang, 1 eightline wrasse, 1 diamond watchman goby, 1 yellow watchman goby, 3 blue-green chomis, 2 PJ cardinals, 1...
