im starting to have problems with red hair algea. what is the main cause of it?

my tank have been set up for three years and havent had any algea problems for the last year but in the last 3 weeks there is alot of red hair growing. what should i do. i do 10% weekly water changes with ro water

Ive been in this hobby for a longtime and some the nices tanks ive seen use tapwater because all the wasted water used in ro units. not that ro is not the way togo(i use it for my tank) Its just cool to see what work for different people.

there is stuff you can buy called cemi-clean works great for red slim. from what i know water flow is more of an problem and lighting for red slim

I have a nano with a hair algea problem I am thinking about buying a phosphate reator,but i would like to know how much better is a reator then just buying a the media and putting it into a bag? What is a good reator and media.

I have the red sea max(36g). my levels are good,I use ro/di water with new filters,I change 8-10g every week and still have hair algea.what should I do? the onlything I can think of is I dont have much of a clean-up crew. could this be the problem if so what should i buy?

I have the red sea max nano . I am starting to have a hair algea problem. I use ro/di water and feed every 3 days and my phosphates are still high. I am looking for a small phosphate reactor. I can only find for 150g i dont have the room for one that big do you know of any small ones?

i need to change most of the filters in my ro/di unit. Do i have to buy them from the same company as my ro unit or can i get them from my lfs.
