    Dayton Fans

Dayton fans are sold by Grainger. It is a house brand name for them. They are great units. You can go and buy them from your local grainger or order them from the catalog. Problem with the catalog is you have to have an account to do that. If you want to use a credit card and order email me...

    Particulate filter needed

I have some fairly serious junk that settles in my rock and under it. When I move a power head just for a change it just fills my tank with little bits of junk. I gotta admit I did not wash my live rock well enough as I dumped it in during lunch time with a minor rinse. I wont need much for long...

    Calcium levels?

I would like to promote the growth of coraline algae (sp?). I have read that raising calcium levles will help. How high should they be and what product should I use to raise it. I have a salifert test kit and it measures 320 right now. I have a 75 gal fowlr and a wet dry filter with 1 clown in it.

What happens when the power goes out?

Yep you did miss the boat. JK. You drill you RETURN FROM the sump/wetdry, not you siphon tube. Your overflow box should be adjusted so it wont cause a flood. when power goes off the overflow wont break siphon, it just comes to a stop. Your return on the other hand is usually much deeper into...

    product info

Have you ever heard of or used a product called S.A.T. It is marine brand by TLC aquarium and pond products. It is used for getting rid of hair alge. It says good for reef tanks. It says it is a bacteria that out competes bad algea for food, but it does not affect "good algea types".You use it...

    Need food advice for clown

What should I be feeding a percula clown. I Have had him 24 hours and he has not eaten. I am not too worried about this, but the tiny food pellets the lfs sold me looks a little tough for this dude to find in a 75 gal tank. He is the only fish in the neighborhood with 50 lbs lr to play in. Tell...

I have a new 75 cycling. It had nothing but dead sand in it for 3 weeks. I used shrimp to cycle it, and it was milky for the last 2 weeks. I added 50 lbs live rock (uncured, but fresh smelling) about 2 days ago and whamo it is crystal clear. Did my rock do this? Second how long till I see any...

    Live rock...now what

It was uncured. It smelled fairly fresh, but it was shipped to me from SWF.COM. I must say I have zero experience with live rock, but this stuff looked pretty good to me. Big hunks, no rubble, and covered with what looks like pink and purple. It has tons of caves, holes and surface area. I gotta...

Off Topic: What is Your Computer Choice

I will toss in my bit here. Buy any of them, just make sure to customize it. Dont take off the shelf crap componets. Go for the better hard drive (not just a big one, but a fast one), get tons of ram and load up on a big vid card. You will be just fine
