I have a blue throat in my 125 and he's awesome! Doesn't mess with anybody else or hurt anything....

We got this piece of LR from a guys tank and when we flipped it over there is this "carpet" looking something... (sorry for the bad pic) There also looks to be some sort of sponge (????) next to it that doesn't photograph well - it's kinda white and orange... Any guesses??
