I know I have a while to go for cycle. I want to know how long do I leave the shrimp in, right now its kind of fuzzy.

Ok I've just set up my tank. 55g wet/dry and skimmer. 20 lbs live rock 20lb sand & 20lbs of ls. started cycle couple of days ago, just put in peel shrimp. How long do I leave it in? I know I need more lr will add later. I haven't check for ammonia yet don't have kit will get next week. So...

I saw bugs that look like nets. around the sand and lr. I check the hitchhicker post and didn't see them so I'm not too worried.

I just got the same one had a heck of a time putting together & there are no instruction just no help pic. where do u want to start.

thx sign guy I figured it out> I didn't have the hose assemble correct and the water was leaving faster than it was comming in. every thing is just fine now.

I finaly got my equipment the other day and set it up myself :jumping: but the wet/dry is leaking from the back were the hose run the water back into the sump. The skimmer is not completely submerge and everytime I put more water in it just go back down underwater levels. I'm still in my cycle...

Hi I'm a newbie and can't answer your question, try the lighting forums maybe you can get some help!

No qt tank yet is there any other way. like I said maybe base rock will be the best solution for this, just to be on the safe side. Much rather have lr but base sound a less of a headache.

money is an issue. someone on here suggested that you could get some lr and some base rock and the live rock will seed the base rock. just looking at all of my options.

I just left lfs asking about base rock they have no idea what it is. So I call 2 others same thing. I'm in Chicago (south side) anyone know where I could buy base rock I will travel to burbs.

Thx everyone the guy at the lfs said that I could use tap water and treat it with chemicals, so far sound all wrong. I'll try the set up myself :scared: and let it cycle the natural way. I have 2 buckets just for the tank only, I just starting off with 30 lb lr will add more later. I don't...
