I was drilling the side of the tank... all I know for sure is that mine broke.

From what I know the walmart tanks cannot be drilled. I tried to drill a 29 and it shattered everywhere. My LFS told me the walmart tanks have a green tag on the bottom (seen if looking from inside the tank) and that the glass was of a lower quality and cannot be drilled...

Had a MJ 900 in the sand one time and that was enough... I went with the mounts made for the application.

#1) What is the general thought on the number of times to turn your water over through the sump (Filter bag / bioballs or live rock)? #2) What about through a refugium that is seperate from the sump?

Use a mag float, glue the powerhead to the part that goes inside the tank. There are also magnet mounts designed for powerheads. Hope this helps...

original overflow is shown onthe left in the middle picture. I tried to attach PVC to it, but couldn't get a good bond so I used clear tubing.

pics aren't the best.... the overflow is on the right. I removed the original overflow elbow because it was too short for my application. I have it plumbed for 1" hose. You could also use 1" PVC. All other plumbing is original.
