Calling all DIY stand builders, Photos Please!!!!

Hay Drew, the legs are not attached to the frames yet, I ran out of screws but was impatient and didn’t want to wait, so I balanced it all together to see what it would look like The two studs that make up each corner are screwed together to for the L shape and both the top and bottom frame...

Calling all DIY stand builders, Photos Please!!!!

Thanks for all your replies! I started my stand today. I realise that ,y design might be overkill, but it was very easy fora novice woodworker like me to put together. Also, the wood was real cheap!. Next weekend I will install the facia boards, doors and trim, then paint. Here is a pic.

    Sump Situation

How many overflows do you have? Many people have two tanks that make up thier sump system, one for the refugium and the other for the skimmer. mabye you could use 2 20gal tanks instead of trying to fit one large tank under there.

Calling all DIY stand builders, Photos Please!!!!

Ok so I’m sitting here looking at my new 75gal tank and matching stand. It’s an AGA RR 75Gal with the wooden stand painted black. This stand is so flimsy looking that I wonder will it even hold the weight of the tank ? As I look closer I see that some of the boards / panels that make up the...

Heater question, in sump or DT?

Hi all. I have been reading that some people depend on one large heater in the sump to heat the entire system. I have heard from others that two heaters are better than 1. My question is, which is better, 1 or 2? I would think that 2 would be better just in case one fails, the other will still...

Need Emergency Help Fish Depend On It

I agree with rbaldino and the others. When I changed my tank from CC to sand I had a small yellow tang and two yellow tail b@$tards, uh I mean damsels in a 5gal bucket for 2 days with just a heater and air stone. They were fine and made it back into the tank with no problems.

    damsel question

I have a 3 spot also in a 12g. He is very aggressive. He attacks everything in the tank. I was going to add another fish, but I know that the 3spot would rip it to pieces. My 3spot even attacks the algae scraper when I clean off the glass!! Its funny thought, he is also very territorial, he will...

Question about coralife needle wheel skimmer 125 GAL

Here is another question for those of you who have this skimmer I was looking at the instructions for the 65 (they didn’t have a 125, which is the one I want to get) and it said that the pump should not be submerged more that 3-4”. I am assuming that the 125 has a similar spec. My question is...

    Need help building my Sump

Thanks for your reply. So x and y should be the same? To answer some of your questions, there is a suction break in the durso tube in the overflow. However, there is no suction break in the 3 / 4” return line. I only planed on having the return nozzle 1” below the water surface, so at most...
