There is always a brown layer of algea on the surface of my DSB. If I rake it slightly it is nice and white but I don't know if I should disturb the top layer at all. Should I rake it or leave it alone?

I have always bought my nori at the lfs (expensive) or just clipped some romaine lettuce. I am sure that many of you already know that you can buy nori at the grocery store. I recently bought some at our Publix (Florida) for $1.75 a pack. There is enough in one packet for about four weeks.

Bought this guy a year ago. He was the size of a quarter. He still sleeps in the same crevice he used when he was a baby; however, half his body sticks out.

I looked for Southdown and could not find it. So I bought play sand (silica) from Toys"R"Us. I switched about 6 weeks ago and so far so good except for a drop in my PH whic I have to monitor more closely.
