I got a rio 2700 with it. I know its a rio! but for the skimmer I think it would do fine, I wouldent use a rio for my return pump thats for sure! Diatom since you have one I need to ask you this. how do you stop the bubbles from exiting the output?

yeah the only problem I have is that this type of skimmer I have is 32" long and wont fit in the sump? Hmmmmm I gota do some thinking

I hooked up this skimmer I purchased today (used) it needs a pump and a air pump to run. I have it so it suck water from the refugium and spits it out to the sump. is this ok?

Ok let me clear things up! This is what it comes down to! depends, mostly on the size, but usually they consist of Diffrent varietys of Macro Algae and LR. Lights usually are on 24/7 (mine are) but some people like to play it a diffrent way.

I wish I could find some diffrent kinds. It took m a week just to find what I have. I purchased some live rock that has algae that look like little green peas. would this be good to rip off and throw in my refugium?

Thanks salty, I'll change that hose right now lol. I happen to have a 1/2" how about the algae what else should I throw in there?

yes they do!

the lights being on on 24/7 is not nessasary IMO. this weeds are found 75f underwater where they dont get much light. I think 10 hours a day is ok. a guy I met today grows this in his basement and sells it to the lfs. at night he turns all the lights off. You should see how fast this seaweed grows!
