    Sudden MASSIVE ich outbreak!

UPDATE DAY 1 SINCE ICH WAS FOUND. I got home from work and not ONE single spot on either fish!!! ???? I know how ichs life cycle is, and that they will fall off then reappear...but is it feasable to go from INSANE to NOTHING in a matter of 24hrs? And yes...I inspected the fish very very well....

    Ick

Then get a HUGE rubbermaid container for them.... or something like a 55gal QT. They're not going to be comfortable while being treated, nor will they have tons of swimming room, but a healthy cooped up fish is better than a dead fish that had room to swim.

Black Spots on a Sailfin Tang??

Definatly sounds like a common case of black ich. Black ich is not as large as white ich, and much much less distructive. It will look like someone dusted the fish in really really fine black powder. The best way to treat is with a quarintine tank, and formalin. After the first bath ich may...

    Hyposalinity question???

Black velvet damsels are more of a "scaley" fish, if he ever gets big you will notice his scales are very similar to that of a bluegill, the hard scales (which most salwater fish are lacking) serve as a protective layer to not only parasites (ich) but also attacks by other fish. Think of it as...

    Quick ich question

Nope, fish can be acclimated (over a 48hr period) down to low salt levels 1.009. Although, Iverts, corals, and most micros in your tank cannot.. Hypo should only be used when treating a fish, or to treat in QT before introducing them to your display, otherwise low salinity over prolonged...
