well i was told that thay can damge corals and stuff why would thay make traps to get rid of them if thay wernt a problem????:confused:

really it depends on what is in the tank a clean plastic cup would work fine makeing sure you wash it buy hand with hot water NO SOAP;) be carefull though adding sand to a tank can cuzz problems you got to add it right or your tank will be cloudy for days maybe even weeks and all your filters...

all are fine togther i would not get a maderin thay dont live well in captive even the most exp hobiest cant keep them alive long in a tank with many fish you would need a big tank with lots of live rock thay are kinda like seahorses only little more durble thay eat kinda slow and most fish...

live sand is the same thing as live rock but sand persay very good to have basicly its just cycled sand and will help in the cycleing progress and its about 100 times better than crushet coral lol Look alot better also

Red alge isent alge its bactira = bad probly need a water change and a skimmer would be a good idea unless you whant to make 2 time the water changes i would remove it some how with a net or something add alittle more live rock like 20lbs or more
