:) Right now I am still saving... Need a few more bucks to get my tank running. I will tell you what I decide when it is all said and done. Thanks for the help Elliot.
Dave :)
All the puffers are wonderful! I just can't decide... How about one of each! :D
Hmmm.. I might just start out with a small puffer, and then get more tanks and more puffers.
I can't picture a puffer so sweet as the dog at my LFS even think about eating/killing another fish! My lfs petted him and let me pet him. Maybe I will do some more research on the other puffers. I am determined to find a puffer and name it Elliot!
I just went to the LFS and they have sold my valentini that I had on hold. But they had a new puffer in a dog face. I have decided to get a dog face instead.
So I am getting:
1 dwarf lion
1 dog face puffer
1 yellow mimic tang
I knew the lionfish is venimous, as well as the puffers (the flesh), but I don't want to take a chance with the lionfish.
So, I am back to where I was in my last thread... Could I add a pork in with the valentini and eel?
Also, could I do this tank skimmerless?
I don't have a skimmer on my 10 gallon (scooter blenny and tomato clown). Every thing seems to be ok, I have 2 x 5 15 whisper/regent power filters on it.
My LFS has the cutest little 3 inch valentini puffer and I already named it Elliot... ( ;) )I told the LFS not to sell it. Yep, I love puffers. I am thinking about another tank after this 40... maybe a 75 for a pork.
BTW, I love your club. And thanks for all the advice.
[ August 03, 2001...
What do you say about a dwarf lionfish, a snowflake eel, and and a valentini puffer?...
ALSO, would a 30-60 advanced whisper power filter be enough filteration? (I will be getting a protien skimmer as well).
Thanks I will look into it! I loved my FW puffers. I had one spotted puffer that lived in a 20 by himself...Lived for 2 years (i bought it full grown)... ever since than I have been interested in puffers. The other day at the LFS I saw a cute little pork. Only if I had a tank big enough for...
What do you think about a 40 gallon with a valentini puffer, a snowflake eel, and a marine betta? Or is that too much?
Also, is CC the best substrate for for the puffer and eel so I can clean it more easy?
I am one of the idiots that bid on them! Ok, so I am new at keeping saltwater tanks... Used to keeping FW, a heck of a lot different then SW!
Luckily, I retracted my bid!

I would have to agree with mark on this one. They need a very large aquarium. the only shark that could live a good life in a 200 gallon is the horn shark.
