I'm not sure if I should post this here or not, but I have a small problem and could use some help. I was at *****, and they told me that my 7 gallon tank would cycle better if I purchased a few freshwater oscars and put them in there. Well, that was last night, and now I have 4 oscars...

    Yellow Tang in a 10g

So last night I went over to my neighbors house, and he just started a salt water tank. The crazy thing is the LFS sold this 10 gallon tank setup to him with all the other stuff PLUS they sold him a YELLOW TANG right away. I tried to explain to my neighbor the problem with the tang, but he...

    Got a new 75g tank...now which filter?

I could be wrong here, but wouldn't an Emperor 400 be a good filter for his 75g? I would think that the 400 with an 1140 powerhead and skimmer would do the trick real nice.

96 watt light information and other 10g related equipment....please help.

I haven't purchased anything yet, but i'm thinking now of getting a 10 gallon with the 96 watt light i've heard people talk about on here. I was going to get the 12g 48w nano cube dx, but I think i'm just going to do it piece by piece and go down to the LFS and get a 10 gallon tank for $9.99...

    Protein skimmer / powerhead question

Good reply about the salt creep. I did forget to mention that the salt gathered a lot more on the ballast, lights, hood, etc... with the air bubbles on with the powerhead. Jester805, what are your plans for the Yellow Tang. I feel bad for that guy in a little 29g. He must be super stressed...

    Protein skimmer / powerhead question

On my old 65g, I had two Penguin 550 Powerhead's on either side of the tank. I sometimes adjusted them to blow bubbles, but i didn't have a skimmer on the tank. I never had any problems although you might search for someone more experienced to give you a better answer.

I'm thinking of getting into a nano tank. I'm wanting to order the equipment asap so that I can start the cycling process. Possibly the 12 gal nano cube, maybe the DX version of that. I also have looked at nanocustoms and they have some modded and upgraded nanos you can get from them. I haven't...

I also have looked at nanocustoms and they have some modded and upgraded nanos you can get from them. I haven't thrown out the idea of a standard 10g with a 96 watt coralife on it as well. I...

    Can I add another fish??

I have a buddy who put a Yellow Tang in a 45 gallon and the tang didn't last but about 9 months. I would say the 29g tank is way too small for that size of fish. Your LFS guy basically lied to you. You could call the LFS where you purchased the tang and ask for a refund / store credit and...
