I was in a LFS recently and saw some Kryptonite Candy Cane's....Gorgeous! They had been fragged off of a soft ball sized piece...each piece had maybe 2-3 branches...so your getting 2-3 candy canes. They were 59.00 per frag. That seems like a lot to me. Is it just because they are rare or something?

I would think it would be a bad idea for the refugium for the same reason we don't use it in tanks anymore...its a detritus trap. You can get reef rubble from your lfs pretty easily and it won't trap all that nasty stuff as bad.

That seems to be the story I get from everyone about DNA. What part of Dallas are you in?

Octopus are super cool, but very very inteligent, which makes them escape artist. Unless you have tank with a very tight lid, and no escape holes, I would skip the Octopus. JMHO

I agree with Drakken. The mandarin and any sand sifter will compete, and its hard enough to keep them alive with out worrying about a competitor eating up their food supply. The fish that Drakken has in his avatar is an anthias...great fish for your tank. They do best in groups of 3 or more...
