I just got home with my new baby, a porcupine puffer. He is soooo cute! His name is Gizmo. He is about 3 inches. I know they need hard shell food to keep their teeth short but is there anyone that can tell me ANYTHING else I may need to know to keep him healthy and comfy!

I thought puffers ate shrimp and crabs? I like the dogface and porcupine puffers but yes they get big. How fast do they grow? If I put one in my 55gal how much time do i have before it would outgrow it? I plan to upgrade to 125gal in January or February.

wow I didnt realize they were THAT bad! And yep...the lfs is why I got them. They recommended it. Well, anyway, since it has to be fish that adds to $75 what about a wrasse or something like that. Can anyone think of ANYTHING I can add now....I really want this puffer.

the suncorals are so pretty. I would like to have one too. Will a puffer eat them though?

I want to add a puffer to my 55gal and was wondering which puffers are the smallest and would be the best for my tank? I love the dogface puffer, they are so cute!!! And also need to know if I can add a puffer in with a clown and 2 peppermint shrimp. I have 2 damsels right now but am trying...

O good!!! Thanks for the help! My salinity is kinda low then, it is at 1.020 I had it kinda high until my last water change and so I didnt add any salt when I did it and now its too low. What is the best way to add salt? I know I cant just dump it in there, lol. I have fish in it too so...

and are they hard to keep alive? I was passing a fish store that was going out of business so I stopped and got these but they didnt seem to know much about caring for them.

When u say they need to be started absolutely sterile, do u mean I can't use my fw tank at all for it or will cycling it for 6mths take care of this.
