    Help Identify this anemone

I agree about being a long Tentacle anemone which is really all I needed. I did find a few pics of this type but the names varied. I WISH it was a purple LTA, they are way more than I paid for this guy. ANy way, thanks - He is still doing GREAT and I am getting ready to move him from QT to one...

    Help Identify this anemone

Your right. didn't think about adding a pic of the foot. It is Yellowish whitw and orange at the base. It does appear to have spots inside the food pedestal if you were to look "through" it with the light on the opposite side. I will try to add a pic of it's foot later.

    Help Identify this anemone

He looks this way all the time, when he reaches out his tentacles are always thin and straight and not very long. He has a beautiful coloration and stripes on the tentacles and his moth base. I just wish i could read about jhim and optimal care. Anyone have any other ideas on what kind he is. I...

Sand Sifting Crabs?! What the heck?

I tried two orders of these from SWF. None of them lasted more tha a week. Conditions in the tank were perfect, it's my refugium. So I was hopeful but for me it didn't work out. And I really didn't ever see them move around, just dig, and then a day later they were upside down dead. The next day...

    Right Salt to use?

While salt is being discussed here - I have a question. I was reading some other blogs on another " hobby site" and I came across an article or post that basically stated salts shouldn't be mixed. Well, let me explain, the post said that there are SYNTHETIC salts, such as Instant Ocean, and then...

    Introducing Plants to established Tank

YearOfTheNICK: On a side note I also stay away from any type of Caulerpa - I have read ALOT on them and didn't want any possible side effects of them going "sexual", releasing nitrates and stuff back into my refugium. I am sure there are people that do them, however I always play it safe when I can.

    Introducing Plants to established Tank

The plants I was asking about were the shaving brush type I bought from SWF. I have added Chaeto and the shaving brushes to my newly setup refugium. I did do a freshwater dip on the new shaving brushes, and so far so good. Had them in for almost 3 weeks, doing good. If you look on the SWF...

    Domino fish problem

Obvioulsy pics would help - however - I have had these damsels in the past - If I am not mistaken , they go from real cute, solid dark black when young and get lighter in color as they age. Especially the 3 spot and the 3 stripe one's. They also go from being real cute to being the most...

Great Idea, Thanks again. Funny thing, I have been doing this for a long time and have never dealt with ICK disease, just popeye, redness, a case or two of lymph, etc etc. I have always been super slow and careful. And everytime I did have something it DID end up being something with quality of...

Beth?shark - Ick or stress - Emperor Angel

Thanks Beth/Shark, here is my fish, I think you'll agree it looks exactly like the pic you posted that I included last night. I will raise the salinity back up over the next three days and then he should be good to go in the DT. Should I use Marycn 2 for a few days in a REAL QT tank with this...
