I'm going to try a mini reef!

I have had a 2.5 setup for about 6 months now. It contains a yellow and blue damsel and a few colonies of pulsing xenia. Also it has a hawaiian feather dustar. ;) It's not so hard!!!

Please Help! Coral Beauty is NOT eating.

I just bought a Coral beauty last week. He didn't eat anything the first two days. I take that back he plucked at my live rock. I tried brine shrimp, omega one flake food, and cut up krill to no avail. I bought some frozen mysis shrimp and the beauty immediately ate it and now he eats anything...

    it's here

I would let the tank cycle if you didn't keep the water he had in it. Use a breeder cage for the puffer and put it in your 75. He will be fine there until your other tank is cycled.

    anemone and confused

Anemones do tend to deflate occaisionally. As far as the lighting goes, it will move if the light is too bright or too dim so don't worry about it. The lighting you have on your 20 long is about right for a bubbletip although many think they need gright lights. you want to be right around 4-5...

    Clown and Mandarin missing!!!!!

There is nothing in your tank the would be predatory towards the new fish. Mandarins can be quite shy for a few days when introduced to a tank. As for the clown, you should have seen it by now, I would maybe do a little digging just for peace of mind.

    Dust on Live Rock

Do you have any fish in there? Alot of fish will take a mouthful of sand and spit it out wherever they feel it would work out best.

    Aiptasia and Vinegar

It is very difficult to pull them off the rock, you have to be careful not to tear them or they will regenerate. Most of the time when you go to try to get them they suck back into a whole very quickly. The aptasia away doesn't work very well IMO. I used it on some live rock from Belize, i did...

    Live Rock Question

Absolutely this will happen if the rock is not cured. Everything is fine. It will cycle the tank just like a fish will.

Lighting for a 2.5 gallon salt...

I just setup a 2.5 gallon nano and I am wondering if anyone here has been able to come up with a do it yourself lighting system that is adequate for corals? I know I can buy a decent setup for $50 or so but I would rather do it myself if at all possible. Thanks for your time!

    Need Id.....!

These would be copepods, I ahve a ton in my ten gallon nano. Nothing to worry about, just means the tank is doing well.

    not sure what these are.

I have plenty of pods in my tank but they never stick to the glass. They are in the sandbed and the live rock so I am wondering if these are really copepods. Aptasia or glass anemones are anywhere from clear to brown creatures with fingerlike portrusions. They are somewhat similar to a xenia...

    How soon is too soon?

Do you have any fish or live rock in this tank, anything at all to cycle it. IMO 7 weeks is plenty of time for the tank to cycle. My co-worker has a ten gallon saltwater tank on his desk he only cycled his tank in two weeks with a few damsels. He added a sebae at the end of the second week with...

    lion fish

Lionfish are a great fish to own. The only downfall is that they can be very difficult to ween off of live food. If possible have you lfs person feed the lionfish frozen food before you buy it. I have had a red volitan for about two weeks now but I cannot get him to eat silversides, sand eels or...

    Maron Sand????

How long has this tank been setup? If it hasn't been long, generally this will happen during the cycling period. If its been up for a while then you coul dget yourself some sifting helpers, like gobies, sandsifting starfish, or crabs. Dragon gobies and orange spotted sand sifting gobies do well...

    clown fish and a Anemone?

I bought a sebae clown and a bubbletip anemone the same day from two different sources and the clown immediately took to the anemone. Now the clown hoards all the food and drops it into the anemone whenever I feed. It is very fun to watch the relationship of the two. But if I go in and rearrange...
