Try the Nova Extreme Fixtures. At 4ft long of a tank you can get 4 or 8 bulbs in a fixture that sits right on top of your tank. I bought mine at (edit). Little heat and looks great if you don't have a canopy.

Return pump = to skimmer pump. I have a mag 12 return and a mag 18 skimmer pump. I like to think that all water going through my sump first entered my skimmer. Starting a cycle could be done with damsels or raw shrimp would definetly cause a cycle to start.

Total volume of water? Tank? Refugium? How many fish? I've seen numerous tanks able to run with out a skimmer but after you run a skimmer and see the crap it pulls out of the water why would you not want to use a skimmer?

What model Precision Marine skimmer is that? Is it creating foam? Is the foam not reaching the collection cup?

Nice upgrade! Odd size tank. Be sure not to put anything to close to your Fuzzy Green Hydrnophora it has long tenticals. How is the color of your sps recovering now that your system is in check? What lfs do you patron? How is your skimmer working with that big bio-load?

No sand just bare bottom. I'm thinking now that I should have put white board down (whatever it's called) to give it a more natural look. I plan on sps in the near future so the more turnover the better. Tuesday I'm adding a few more creatures (cleanup crew and a fish or 2) before I go nuts...
