    Is this a featherduster?

From google images I am pretty sure this guy is a little featherduster, but I've never had or seen one personally so I want to make sure he's not Aipstasia. I have seen Aipstasia in my tank so I am pretty sure it isn't that. He's orangish and has little hairy arms fanning out in a circle of...

    I need a diagram for a BC 8g sump

I've done a lot reading on sumps in general and it looks like most all of them feed the sump from an overflow container. Is this a must, I couldn't attach an overflow without taking the hood off, which I don't want to do. Regarding the 2 tube system where one pump pumps water out of chamber 3...

    I need a diagram for a BC 8g sump

My reasons for adding a sump are to add water, sand, and rock to the system, as well as a protein skimmer. In my biocube chambers I have cheato, some media bags, and a heater, all stuff that could go into the sump. So if I empty out the chambers they become useless, correct? Meaning, as...

    I need a diagram for a BC 8g sump

Can anybody pass me a diagram of a sump sitting behind an 8g Biocube? I'm primarily concerned with intake and return, where and how to pull water, where and how to return it, where to drill holes, etc. I have googled some diagrams so I have a general idea how this would work, pulling from...

    Katsafado's first ever 10g SW tank(nano)

Actually I lied I have a question about sand sifters cause I have brown algae in mine. I got 2 scarlet hermits cause I read they sift sand, and they did the first night, but once they discovered my trees they never come off the rocks, they love to chill by the trees staring at them probably...

    Katsafado's first ever 10g SW tank(nano)

Great topic, I read it all last night.. (ok I skipped some pages lol) but got most of it. I started my first 8g a month ago so a lot of the questions I have, you already asked The only question I have left is why does your 10g look so much bigger than my 8g? Like.. Twice as big! I have...

small "snail" with yellow spikes on back

Yes after seeing that picture and other google images I think I could have a very young nudibranch. I do not have any zoanthids yet, only 2 Kenya trees and some snails and crabs. I just added half a pound of live rock, it must have come in on that. Here are a couple bad phone shots, its hard to...

small "snail" with yellow spikes on back

No, its not that guy. It definitely has spikes almost as long as its body protruding from its back, not just short hairs. They wave in the current and there are about 8 of them. I tried to pull it out with a baster to get a picture but he slipped back into the tank. I will look for a google...

small "snail" with yellow spikes on back

Today I noticed what looks like a very small (about 3/16th inch long) snail with 2 antennas in the front and about 8 yellow spikes on its back, about 1/8th inch each. I found it up on the back wall of the tank crawling around.

    is this pest too?

Hi guys, I am helping to raise this tank. I'm the guy who introduced this rock to the system (oops) because I read the purple algea on it would spread to other rocks, which I want. I added the rock 3 nights ago so hopefully aipstasia hasn't spread too much. Thanks for the IDs, I am going to work...
