I prepare the water with salt in a 30gal can in the garage and allow it to mix for 2-3 days before I use it. If I use unsalted water won't that lower salinity when using a 25% ratio?

Just got a Porcupine Puffer and he's doing great. One day and he eats and swims all the time. Problem is that he is one messy eater. I have had to take my 2 lg hermits out so he won't eat them. The little ones are his for the taking, so what do I do for a clean-up crew?

I'm looking into getting an Aqua C 180 skimmer but just read about denitrators. Can a denitrator take the place of a skimmer? My nitrates are off the chart due to my well water. I have just finished setting up the RO system so that part of the problem is solved.
