ok the guy just emailed me....it seems he wants to do an semi- aggressive setup, so that means no corals, but he still wants a bunch of LR and he wants the LR to have coralline algea so should I still go with VHO's or a simple metal halide? I dont know how often i will be able to get over there...

well in a 30 high, there is one thing to worry about, gas exchange, see the larger the surface area of the water more oxygen and other benefitial (no spell check :-P ) gasses can make it into the water, but in a 30 high the surface area of water is smaller allowing less gas exchange, but there...

i work at a LFS and we grow our cularipa in the sump of our show reef-tank when it gets large enough, ew whip out the scissors cut the root and stick it in another tank and sell it ~Rankin P.S. dont use surgical steel

the long nosed hawkfish is prolly the most docile of all marine fish, if you have live rock it will find a perch and just sit there till somthing tasty floats by.....but you should have no problem with the hawkfish, when i had my 29 gallon mini-reef it was my favorite fish........ ~Rankin

well i'm ok with the getting fish all the time because i already have pirhana's and a 30 gallon breeding tank with about 150 guppys.....gunna hafta restock soon though.....but if i got say a picasso or a niger would a powder blue be compatible with either of these fish..... ~Rankin

ok i am trying to decide whether or not i want to do an aggressive set up or a reef tank.....if i go aggressive, i want a trigger, but i only have a 65 gallon tank (with a 20 gallon sump) are there any triggers that are not as notoriously messy eaters or as aggressive as most triggers.....and...

hey i was wondering if you could take a matured freshwater filter and use it in a saltwater setup (only a ten gallon).....i'm just lookin to get some sand and live rock to get some mature water when i get my tank goin again..........
