    Question about my ASM Skimmer.

I have a ASM G-2x on a 150 gallon tank. I have a small bio-load of three fish. One 5 inch Dussimier tang, one 2 inch orange shoulder tang, and a 3 inch Timor wrasse. I would say I have around 120-150 pounds of rock. My question is where exactly does everyone keep the height of the bubbles in the...

    A good quality, quiet pump?

How big of a tank are we talking about? Are you looking for an external or submersible pump? For external pumps I recommed an Iwaki, blueline, or little giant. I don't have much experience with submersibles, but I hear oceanrunner pumps run quietly. What size mag pump are you running?

    Skimmer Q

You might also consider looking at an excalibur skimmer. There hang on the tank model comes with an overflow box that hides the pump and return. In my opinion and experience a much better skimmer. You could also look into getting a cpr bakpak. The only downside is that they don't come with the...

    invert i.d. please

Just because it doesn't have claws doesn't mean it's not a lobster. There are several species of lobster that don't have big claws, but are just as dangerous to small inhabitant as their big clawed cousins.

    invert i.d. please

The first pic is of a spiny lobster. They get very large and will eat whatever they can catch. I would consider giving it it's own tank. HTH.

    Cuke Help.

I'd say as long as your tank is at least a 55 gallon you should probably be all right. I've got one in a 58 and he does fine.

    Cuke Help.

I wouldn't get this type to sift the sand. They are for the most part stationary. They just filter feed. The golden cuke wouldn't be a bad idea, that is assuming it is the tiger tail type. Just make sure you have a big enough tank for it. Do you have a pic of the golden cuke?

    Bare Bottom?

I too have a 75g bare bottom tank. Had it up and running for over 8 months now with a Cal reactor used for buffering the water. So far, so good. Like an earlier poster said, with carefuly laid rockwork/coral-clam placement, nobody has ever said "Where's the sand, etc." and the water movement...

    Rabbitfish eats Zoanthids

This has been destroying a hard worked on aquascaped zoo garden, a brown spotted rabbitfish. Only today was he finally observed both tugging on and eating the zoos, so the whole tank will be demolished tonight to get the sucker out. He was originally put in only to eat byropsis (which he had...

    Stomatellid Snails, easy question

They were all involved in a what seemed a feast on the sides of the tank that are not cleaned. None were observed on the LR, SPS, or clams.

    Stomatellid Snails, easy question

LOL Okay guys, thanks for the help. Tonight I'll catch some more (the two that were pulled off the glass for examination were thrown away) and take pictures. Looking in Anthony Calfo/Robbert Fenners book: "Reef Invertebrates", in the Mollusks: Snails & Chitons chapter, there is one picture...

    Stomatellid Snails, easy question

Hello. Quick question. In most or all pics seen of the S. snails, the shell curves in a counter-clockwise way. Can they be clockwise? Recent observation late at night has revealed many of these creatures, and they look almost to a "T" of what a stomatellid snail looks like, except like said...

Water Changes for 55gal Reef Tank?

There are many opinions on this subject, but the norm is like 20% every month or so. I prefer at least a 10% every week. I usually change ten gallons a week on my 58gal. Good luck

    I hate my sea-clone

AquaC remora and CPR bakpak are the ones I would suggest. The only thing I can tell you about the prizm is their reputation for being noisy and difficult to adjust. Good luck
