Yes, those are much better pics. It is definately Pocillopora damicornis. Good luck.

Can you ID any of these Coral?

Does the base look similar to a skeleton? Or is it actually a soft coral? If the base is indeed a hard like a skeleton, then I'm sticking with frogspawn.

Can you ID any of these Coral?

It's definately not galaxea. If it's not a leather, then my next best guess would be encrusting porites. Is there a better pic you might be able to get of the polyps? The texture of the coral just doesn't seem right for a hard coral. It's not spongy at all? The more I look at it the more it...

Can you ID any of these Coral?

The first one looks like frogspawn, the next two are leathers, the third is some type of acropora. The forth is capnella and maybe sinularia. The last pic is hard to tell, but I'm going to guess that it's a mumps leather. Good luck.

    GSP pic

That almost looks like Briarium. Would you happen to have any pics of the polyps pulled in? When the polyps of briarium pull in the base is more flat and you won't see as much of a stalk. In my experience briarium also grows quicker than GSP. By the way they look great :joy:

    Galexia needs

Pyro is right. They have long sweeper tenticles and in my experience they grow rather rapidly. As far as conditions, strong waterflow, and I would be comfortable placing it low to mid level in the tank. Good luck.

    Frag Question

Some are easier to frag than others depending on the particular rock they are on, and how thick they may be. If they are on a smooth surface, with care, slide a new razor blade underneath the start of the mat (if it is a mat) then try gently pulling them off. Once off, you can easily take the...

    i'm so depressed!

Whoa, that tank is WAY overstocked with fish. I'd suggest cutting down the fish population and a severe regiment of waterchanges frequently (like once or twice a week, 15-20%) using only RODI water from a reputable source until NO3 levels have become more acceptable. You may have to do that...

    Green star polyps & Carbon

You should be careful of what brand carbon you use. Cheap varities release phosphates besides other harmful toxins that can have adverse affects on corals.

how to rid a hitchhiker from a rock

You could try boiling water and a hypodermic needle. Even if some zoos are damaged in the process, they will grow back. Although if you are careful enough... you will damage the crab enough for him to die, leaving the colony allright.

Have a question about my new acrylic tank.

Thanks for your help dogstar. My tank is going to be an SPS and maybe some ricordea on the bottom, but mostly just SPS. I was originally going to go topless with this tank and just use pendents, but if I have to keep it to high off the water that will be a lot of light polution in the room...

Have a question about my new acrylic tank.

How high above the brace do you have your MH? I will be running 400watt hqi. I was planning on having the lights like 8 inches or so above the waterline. I just don't like wasting any light passing through the acrylic. Does anyone know the reflective property of acrylic? Something like how much...

Have a question about my new acrylic tank.

I have a 150 gallon custom acrylic tank that I have a small problem with. Instead of cutting three holes in the top of the tank I've only got two. I didn't think of telling the guy to cut three cause I thought that was a standard thing. The dimensions of the tank are 72x24x20. I have eleven...
