well, i'm sorry to hear you ordered horseshoe crabs. i wish someone had warned me before i bought them. i don't know about their contact with anemone's cause i don't have any. but horseshoe crabs aren't good for tanks. they don't have enough space, and the water isn't cold enough for them...
I have 2 feather dusters in my 125 gallon. i've never had any problems with my blue leg hermits doing anything to harm them. when i put them in the tank i just put them in front of the rocks. they attached themselves. i wouldn't bother attaching them because if you handle them too much...
the hermits i ordered from here were also very tiny. they sent me 2 free shrimp that were smaller than the brine shrimp i use for feeding! lol the one that was the biggest of the 2 (which was still just about microscopic) i found dead the next morning. and i did acclimation for SEVERAL hours...
i have 2 fighting conch's in my tank and wish i had a couple more. they're great! they just get on the glass and the sand. haven't even seen them on the rock. they do a great cleaning job. i've heard you shouldn't get a queen conch cause they get too big.
i leave my sand alone...i don't touch it. it's live sand and pretty much it taken care of for the most part. i do have to disagree about the horseshoe crabs...don't get them. they will die, guaranteed.
What do i do with my tank? When the kids have spring break we'd like to leave for a couple days but i don't know what i need to do as far as the lights/feeding. any ideas? thanks.
sounds like you're doing lots of research! that's great...i researched and researched until i couldn't anymore...and after started i still found there's so much that i just didn't get in the reading until i finally started it. a little advise tho...if you're married or anything like that..make...
i have 225 lbs of live rock..it was $5.00 per lb. 180 lbs ls..that's about $250. my invert package was about $100. i got ripped off on the tank...it cost me $1550....but the guy didn't do a good job with the system so i had to have someone else redo it and that was about $600. Then i've...
yes, Jay, i get it. And yes, you are rude. Blunt is saying "Don't buy them". Rude is saying, "do you get it?" i got these with my invert package i ordered from THIS site. Why aren't there warnings????
Adrian...question...what was the picture in you 55 gallong...i believe it was on the second from the bottom row. it's got little green circles....almost looks like a vine. yours had a fish in it. i'm just wondering cause i've got it growing on a couple of my rocks. Thanks.
well i have 3 of them..they hide all the time. i try to feed them brine shrimp but it's impossible cause they're always hiding. and 2 out of my 3 fire fish have disappeared. i guess they just went off and died. =( there is nothing wrong with my water so i have no idea what happened to them...
tomorrow morning i'm taking ALL of my rock out and adding 80 lbs more live sand. I have a lot of sargassum algae grown on a few rocks so i'll be getting that off at the same time. I've got some bubble algae but my emerald's have finally started eating that so i think i'll leave it. My...
i was just wondering about the hermit crab thing. i guess if they tried the fight would be on huh? lol. i just got 2 yesterday and i just love them. they aren't supposed to get very big but they say to stay away from the queen conch...they get really big. i can already tell a difference on...
i just noticed about 20 seconds ago that my biggest emerald crab lost one of his back legs....will it grow back??? it doesn't seem to be bothering him too much. he's just hobbling and eating.
i have a 125 tank with 225 lbs lr and 160 lbs ls. i just ordered 80 lbs more sand....is that too much sand? i'm thinking no way but i'm just checking. thanks.
Ya know this is really sad. I as i'm sure so many others expect to sign on here to find info, here other's experience, and to seek helpful insight. Instead, i find stupid stuff like this. I really don't know what to say to refer to you (altho i can think of a few choice words)...all i know...
