its a strawberry hermit crab. i use to have a couple in my bigger tank. they'll be ok around fish if you keep them fed. i use to spot feed mind daily. one day i came home and i hadn't fed it in a couple days, it decided to eat one of my fish.

i have a friend that has a tank and he has a problem. it's a reef tank and he says that when he turns out the lights a million of these little shrimp like creatures come out. i thought he was talkin about copepods or amphipods,but then he said they attack his fish. every fish he puts in there...

if it's been up for a few months then i'd say start stocking but do it at a max of one fish for 2 weeks. gotta do it slowly unless the fish you're buying comes in pairs such as clowns.

how long has this tank been set up for cause that's an awful lot of things to add to a new tank at once. hopefully nothing will die.

i've never seen anyone or heard of anyone with this fish...so with that said the only advice i can give you is that any angel big or small can be problems for a reef tank. large angels in particular. i've only heard of 2 angels being ok for a reef but that's it and this angel isn't one of them.

that's fine...i'd feed it at least once a day but depends on how much it eats. if it can take two a day, i'd do that instead

i got lucky cause i got 2 peppermint shrimp and they both clean the fish and even jump on my hand to clean as well when i'm cleaning the tank. they also have taken care of all the aiptasia in my tank as well.

i'd stay away from the goatfish because they eat good inverts, the jackknife cause they don't survive very well, the mustard tang and the tennanti tang because they won't get along well unless possibly you add them at the same time. the unicorn and the orange shoulder when the tank is more...

another thing could be the circulation of the water and how much filtration you have in the tank. also what type of media you are using in your filter.

they're just as hardy as the regular sailfin tang.

emperor needs a bigger tank than that. it needs a 100 gallon or larger. if you planned on getting a bigger tank in the future you could get a emperor around 3 inches for a bit

it was just the one rock

depends on how fast you want to get rid of it. if you sell it for 300 you're gonna have it a while. i had a 75 that came with complete setup including rock and i had it up for at least 3 months

i went to war with these damn things. i first decided to kill them by dipping one piece of live rock inside of fresh water. well the @#$%$# apparently can live for some time in fresh water cause i left it in a bucket of HOT fresh water over night and wouldn't you know it....they're still alive...
