What about a defence mechinism? Maybe the fish see this thing spasming randomly and doesnt find it as attractive to eat as other corals... I also noticed that a majority of them form a circle when the pulse...so maybe they suspend the water infront of the mouth cavity before they inhale...

So...your on the right track. No light needed for the sump unless ur growing stuff in it. The fuge is just a resovour for groing stuff that filters water. (Biological) Sump is more mechanical. If you decide to use a rubbermade or similar product just make sure that the plastic is food grade...

I have a wet/dry sump w/ skimmer made by Pro Clear Aquatics. 175 model. Rated up to 175 but i wouldnt put it on any tank bigger than a 125g. Been running for about two months. Located in Sunnyvale near the library Call Matt - 408-393-7472

LOL...u pessimists!!! i think the congregation of the same species was interesting to me...I have numerous species of hermit crabs in my tank and the three blue legs were the only ones there to rescue their buddy~!
