I absolutely disagree with the above statment that kole tangs are very passive - that is not my experience at all!! I have 220 reef and the kole is my tank bully! I have a naso and a yellow tang that are more than twice his size and he picks on them! All fish in the tank give him a wide path...

Oceana that sponge thing is a great idea! Just wanted to comment - had never heard that before. I've got a fuge loaded with pods and would like to work them into my larger tank more efficiently. I'm going to have to try the sponge idea! Thanks!

The porcupine puffer will not toxify the tank as long as he is removed soon after death. I had my largest porc pass away (he was about 5 inches long) in my 75 gallon and it did not adversely affect the tank at all. I will tell you what was told to me and what I experienced though - be sure...

There is a product called "chemi-clean" that you can buy to eradicate the red algae. It is the ONLY reef safe product that I have found. I treated my 300 gallon reef system and refugium with it and had no ill effects at all. If you can get some chemi-clean, use it and follow the directions...
