    Southern CA fish??

The water temp off Huntington is 62 to 63 degrees. Still able to surf with a spring suit, but not for very long. If you want to snorkle or dive, Laguna Beach has some nice coves, although water clarity is not good since we had some heavy rains. As was mentioned, Catalina is great in the kelp...

what do i need for a 10 gal qt tank

Hi Nate, If you look at the FAQ post in the Disease and Treatment forum you will see great explanation on QT tanks. I have a 20 gallon QT and all I have is a hang on back filter, a heater, one powerhead and lighting. No rock. I painted the bottom and back flat black. Good luck......

    Dissappearing fish?

I have not seen my firefish, you guys know him as Richard, for 3 days now. And my serpent star looks very content and happy. I've seen Richard sleep at the bottom of the tank at night in the back where the star hangs out. I've searched all over around the tank, in the overflows, sump, etc., no...

A question for Emerald Crab owners...

yea, I think Kip showed some pics of a molted emerald awhile back. I was just curious as to how long the norm is before he shows up with his new hardware! Thanks

A question for Emerald Crab owners...

Thanks scheidts, That is the exact position this "molt" was. And the belly flap was open. It's been a week and a half and he still hasn't surfaced. I'll keep an eye out for him....

A question for Emerald Crab owners...

Yellowtail, once it did molt did you see the little guy with his new suit right away? It's been about a week and a half since I found his suit.

A question for Emerald Crab owners...

How long after the molt does it take for the emeralds to show themselves? I had one that looked like it molted (flap open on bottom of shell), but have not seen him resurface yet. Unless of course that wasn't a molt at all, but a thoroughly picked over dead crab! Thanks

    Inventory/Invoice/Tracking software

You need to be somewhat computer savvy but not a genius. If you check www.quickbooks.com they may have a free download or order form for getting a trial version. Allows you to set it up and see if it meets your expectations. Good luck!

    Inventory/Invoice/Tracking software

Hi Duke13, I own a CD Duplication business and use QuickBooks Pro. Very good accounting software for inventory, invoicing, reports, etc. It keeps track of hundreds of my CD related inventory items so I'm sure fish and supplies would be no problem. HTH

    Colt Coral Light Question

Hi Chris, I wouldn't recommend it. Colts get very big, very fast! 60 watts may be enough light being that close to the coral, but it will take over the majority of your tank and there won't be room for anything else. I suggest you wait until you get your next tank for the colt. I put one that...

    Colt Coral Light Question

Hi sov82, Colts don't need much light. I only have 5 - 40 watt NO bulbs on my 55 and have already had to frag my colt. (see "Fragging the Beast" thread). Not sure why yours is leaning but I don't think it is trying to get MORE light. It may just be acclimating. Give it time and it will look like...

    Puerto Vallarta Pics

Thanks everyone... Alejandro, are you from the coastal area? I'm sure the visibility would be much better in the dry season. We had lots of thunderstorms and rain which led to alot of run-off from the rivers. It was fun, but I'm sure there are times of the year with much better visibility...

    Propagation of Xenia

Nice Job! The colt corals grow out of control also. Since I fragged that beast, each piece has grown to the size of the original when I bought it 7 months ago. They are actually becoming a nuisance! Maybe I'll take the 2 frags to the LFS and see what I can get. C-ya
