Do you have to have an anenome(?) for a sexy shrimp or are they fine without one, the LFS told me that they will die without one- if they dont get eaten but other tank members first. Is this true because I would really like to get one or 2 and another cleaner shrimp

depending on your test kit, I think you are still in your TRIte spike, that can give a high trate reading when there really isnt any trate, If you are not in a major hurry (haha yeah right) I would at least start ghost feeding- Ive heard you need to keep SOME ammo source in there and it sounded...

You could cut back on time the lights are on , but there are some excess nutrients in your water and you need to find the source of them, over feeding is one, so is tap water

could be it bubble algae, if it is you would want to take it out because they will get really big, explode and spores will go everywhere, but get a for sure before you go yanking!

keep checking your ammo, and nitrite if you cant cure the rock in a diffrent container, keep an eye on the fish and test often, depending on your die off as to how long it could take, smell the new rock. Smell funky? if so get it outta there
