BIG Tiny Air Bubble Problem In Water

Here's my old intake setup. This was connected to my AquaClear 802 to dissipate the inflow of water.

Loopy Cow Fish? Need Feedback Please

I've never tested RO/RI water yet. I can do that tonight to verify. My tank current is fairly high, maybe she's sick of fighting the currents. :) I'll lower the current down a notch and see what she does with that. On that note, is it a good idea or bad idea to make a "dead" spot in the tank...

Loopy Cow Fish? Need Feedback Please

I feed 2 times a day, noon and 10pm. After as much as a 20% water change and the amonia readings are the same and never vary up or down. I've also cleaned the substrate several times since I use CC. She doesnt appear to be stressed, she's a very docile fish. I can pet her, feed her by hand...

BIG Tiny Air Bubble Problem In Water

Nope, not using the tube to inject air into the powerhead flow. I neglected to install those tubes because I knew it would be a bad idea. I'll try cleaning those parts with vinegar. Not that this cant or wont work but I just do not see where the air bubbles are coming from. Thanks for the...

BIG Tiny Air Bubble Problem In Water

I am using AquaClear 802 powerheads with an emporer 400 wet/dry and a prizm deluxe protein skimmer. I constantly have tiny air bubbles in the tank and they appear to always come from the powerheads. The powerheads constantly have bursts of hundreds/thousands of miniscule bubbles every so often...

Loopy Cow Fish? Need Feedback Please

I have a cow fish, bessie, and she's a cute fish. Anyways, my question is this... At night she tends to go a little nuts? if you know what I mean. She will start to ram the top of the glass hood. Sometimes it's several times and others it's one or two times. None-the-less this is becoming a...

    Cowfish

I have one that looks exactly like it. I've had her for almost a month now and yes, she eats everything and is fairly easy to maintain with the exception of the occasional ich outbreaks at which point in time I move her to the hospital tank and treat her with greenex. While acclimating her...

    Red faced eel

I cant tell you how to fix your problem and hopefully someone will come up with a solution for you but when my eel started to turn red in the face, tail and belly (where the eel excretes) the next step for the eel isnt good. I hope you can find a treatment and soon! Good luck!

    id help (orange crab)

These guys can and will eat fish that are on the brink of death or already dead. They are in essence a cleanup crew of larger things in the tank. I've had several snails and one descent sized flame angel disappear. Although i'm sure it's possible that my snowflake eel helped but I don't doubt...

    Water Changes & Wet Dry's

Thomas712: Thanks for the timely response and what you've said totally makes sense. I'll definately keep that in mind while doing my regular water changes. It's very difficult sometimes to come up with hard facts in this hobby so in most cases an opinion can be looked upon as fact which most...

    Live rock??

I believe it's the luck of the draw. You're trying to weigh out price vs. looks. A friend of mine purchased 90-100lbs of LR online for approx. $300 which is very close to $3.00+/lb and the rock was beautiful. Online you can find great prices and great rock. Maybe roll the dice on a smaller...

    Water Changes & Wet Dry's

This may be along the same lines and hope we can get an answer in this thread...It's in direct response to the questions and responses in this thread. I have "heard" that taking the water from the bottom of the tank is good because all of the water from the top of the tank is the best quality...

    Water problem

I dont see this question asked so i'll say it.. Is your tank regularly exposed to sun light? If your tank is exposed or is in direct sun light, your algae problem can get out of hand extremely fast and this is something you might want to verify. Jrittz

    Went for a ride

Do you have any type of plastic mesh you can place over the overflow to prevent the fish from falling into it? That's the best way to prevent anything fish, snail, shrimp, etc from falling into an overflow or getting sucked up into any sort of intake. Cover it up enough where the fish/inverts...

    What the heck is this?

Did it look like a centipede at all? Bristleworms start out very small and grow to be very large. They are good for your tank when they are small and can be damaging to your tank/fish when they get large. Of course some fish eat these little guys. But as I was saying, if you can get a...
