Loopy Cow Fish? Need Feedback Please

I would say with your 20 gallon tank and a 1-1.5" Cow Fish, you're probably safe for 5-6 months. Then that is when you would absolutely want to upgrade tanks. The problem with that is this...When you upgrade tanks, you need to have the tank up and running for a certain amount of time before...

Well it's been roughly 7 months since i've gotten my Cow Fish, Bessie. She's doing great, her horn is growing back slowly but surely. She doesnt seem to be ramming the hood any more. We got her when she was around 2 inches long including horns and today, 7 months later, she's nearly 6 inches...

    Water > yellowish-brown coloration

You people amaze me. You hijack this thread to get your personal arguements out in the open. Everybody has their own methods of solving a problem and they may actually work but you do not take the time to contribute to the solution, rather, arguing and confusing the person who needs help the...

    enough room?

It is indeed true, anything a lion fish can fit in his mouth he will eat. There are only a few exceptions to this but they are not always exceptions. If it swims near its face, it stands the chance of being swallowed whole. Sometimes even if the fish itself is bigger than its mouth it will...

    leaving off the glass conopy..

I believe there are several factors when considering top or no top. One, what are you going to have in the tank? There are many fish out there that have the chance of jumping out. There are also eels that will most definatly climb out without hesitation. Water levels are another key factor...

    anenome or not

You can also get a bubble tip anemone. These anemone's do not sting and if they do it's something we cant feel if we touch them. Once the anemone finds a spot, they usually stay put. On occasion they will move. But not frequently. I believe you will be safe with this type of anemone and the...

Your lion will eat anything that can fit into its mouth. Sometimes it will even attempt to eat things that are too big. :D Jrittz

    Something gone wrong

I've heard CBS and Choc Stars can be aggressive. Not that it's always the case. This is the very reason I held off from buying the CBS. Aggressive shrimp they are. It definately doesnt appear to be caused by bad water conditions. Just my 2 cents. Jrittz

    Soounds fishy to me!

I thought the point of a marine aquarist was to be one with nature, not be one with genetic science? Go figure. :notsure: I'm not opposed to it, I just think it defeats the purpose. Very Odd Indeed. Jrittz

    Good or Bad Reaction?

In my experiences so far... I think anything that dies in a tank creates ammonia once it breaks down but it sounds like in your case there was little die off. It may create a very small spike but I doubt there's really much you need to worry about. If there was a lot of algae that died off...
