ro/di water comes to the filter tank when the water is low it pushes up to the tank. there is a water overflow top of fish tank so water cannot overflow. The filter is connected to our main water tank and only the filtered water goes into tank. I hope I explained it correctled

hi, we have a protein skimmer and are getting about a quart to a quart and a half of dirty water coming out daily. We have ro/di water coming direct to the tank in to replace this water and any needed water. Do we have to still do water changes? Thanks for your help.
