    5.5 Fowlr

I have a ph testing kit and petsmart uses the same tests (8$ for 4 of them) they sell. They said my water was perfect actually! I understand the point everyone is making that it's too small, but I've never backed down from a challenge! I said "coral" which it is but it was harvested dead. It's...

    5.5 Fowlr

...of small saltwater aquariums. There are no Damsels, including Clownfish, that are appropriate for a 5.5 gallon system. A pair of Neon Gobies, or a pair of Clown Gobies could work (not both). These are small sedentary fish that could handle such a small swimming area. Please don't put a...

How many fish in a 29 gallon?

According to Live Aquaria the transparent cave gobies will be aggressive towards each other in a small tank. In my mind 29 gal. is a small tank. Might depend on if they are the same sex or not. I have two Tangaroa gobies in my 40 who get along fine but I purchased them as a bonded pair. If...

How many fish in a 29 gallon?

...cave goby. I have read though that you should not keep two of the same species of goby together though because they will fight each other. Does anyone know if this is true with transparent cave gobies? And if they could both cohabit the same area would those five fish be too many for the tank?

    36g reef tank Noob

...are similar in appearance and stay relatively small and are pretty peaceful. You can get a watchman goby. I'd stay away from sand sifting gobies your tank is too small and too new. Royal gramma, orchid dottie back, clown goby, a cherub pygmy angel (other dwarfs need more space) a single...

Getting a grasp on this...currently have a hex tank

...moray eel, a blue damsel and a clarki clown fish. There are a lot of small fish that will do well in that type of tank. Clown fish, gobies, firefish, basslets, dotty backs, etc. You can't really do a lot of fish that are active swimmers (like angels, or tangs) because there just isn't the...

    my new wish list

...small fish so the long list isn't so bad. I'd nix the engineer goby. they are crazy messy and will move all your sand every day. The other gobies are fine. I'd also nix the cleaner wrasses. They usually die of starvation pretty quick. I'm not sure how multiple blennies do with each...

    which dottyback

I have an orchid dotty back. He's in my 40 with a small oscelaris and two small gobies. I never have any aggression issues with him. the gobies are new, if he was inclined to go after a fish it would be them since they are small and added last. I agree with Jay, Royal grammars are nice. I...

    Digital PH meter pen?

...and a lot easier than the API testing kits I currently use. Do you think the digital PH meter pen is good enough? My tank: 100 gallon. 7 fishes. (clowns, tanks, gobies and dragonet) BTA, some beginner corals, one clam, a coco worm, Those common invertebrates, etc. Thanks for any advice

Currently, I have two black Percs, two firefish gobies, and a sixline wrasse. What are some other docile fish that are compatible with mine?

OMG 16 gal tank, all fish dying

...they can go into osmotic shock. 16 gallon tank, as Flower said, is way too small for anything other than the clowns. Not sure I'd put a clown in one that small. Definitely too small for any angel fish even the cherub. Gobies work good in small tanks. as to some of the small blennies.

    Gramma is a bully

The opposite direction can also work. A Barnacle Blenny or some Neon Gobies are small enough that they are not a threat and can easily hide in tiny holes in the rock if needed.

    Entire Aquarium Died--Heater Broke

...vacation to a really depressing sight: my entire 40-gallon aquarium is dead. I had two clowns (one a platinum percula), two Chinese zebra gobies, a firefish, and a royal gamma. I'm really depressed. It's obvious the heater broke while I was away because the temperature is too low to be...

    What am I doing wrong?

...dot goby, the yellow tang, and 2 clowns. The clowns are the only things I ever replaced with clowns because I really wanted them! The other fish, for example, when the blue tang died instead of getting another I got a foxface to try it. At most, excluding the gobies, I've only had 6 fish at a...

    10 Gallon

The 5.5 but I think this might not be wise. i might have to look at small gobies for here instead, really wanted something swimming

    10 Gallon

...tanks are really not large enough for any of the swimming fish. There are a few darting type fish that could work and a bunch of sedentary fish that will be fine in a 10 gallon. Perhaps a Pseudochromis fridmani or a Royal Gramma (not both), and a couple Neon Gobies or Clown Gobies (not both).

Yellow Coris Wrasse in 14 biocube?

Instead of a Wrasse there are quite a few Gobies or Blennies that would work well with he Clownfish. A couple Neon Gobies, a couple Clown Gobies, Barnacle Blenny, etc. Small docile fish that tend to just hang out. An Antenna Goby with a Tiger Pistol Shrimp is very entertaining and would work...

new to hobby advise always wanted

...an eye on it. Time will tell. Scooter blenny ( actually a dragonet) is iffy. They are hard to feed and do best in large established tanks. Their natural diet is Copepods. If yours is eating prepared food it might work. Yellow watchman gobies are my favorite fish and perfect for a small...
