    SO NOISY

Good point about the added powerhead. You don't need all of your flow going through the sump. Powerheads or closed loop are far more efficient.

Getting a grasp on this...currently have a hex tank

One additional advantage to a full multi-stage RO/DI is that you can use the RO water for drinking if you buy a storage tank and you can split the DI output to your ice maker for crystal clear ice cubes.

Getting a grasp on this...currently have a hex tank

Far better than a Britta. A Britta is similar to the first two stages of a 4 stage RO. But yes, it should come with a faucet attachment.

Getting a grasp on this...currently have a hex tank

There's also a filter called a tap water filter. It's basically just an deionizer. Normally these are not cost efficient because the ion beads are not cheap. But after looking at the Pequannock water report it seems your tap water TDS hovers around 100. Not good enough for straight usage but...

So. Who are you voting for?

LOL You're trying to tell us that every person in the world makes a similar wage. That's just fantasy. Government policies have had profound effects on economies. These countries do not have free markets. We will soon not have anything resembling a free market.

So. Who are you voting for?

d Those countries do not follow a free market, except for Canada. Or do you really believe they do? I would suggest we alter our thinking prior to becoming a third world nation.

So. Who are you voting for?

I somewhat disagree. I agree that any country that has some type of tariff on US imported goods needs to be given the same. Yep, absolutely. That doesn't solve the problem though. Beaslbob thinks we all play by the same rules. If that were true then his market pressure theory would be...

    Is my chile coral okay?

I agree, get it out of the light for a while. It cannot compete with fast growing filament algae under reef lighting.

    Salt mix

Agreed, 1 cup salt mix per 2 gallons of filtered cold water and then use a refractometer to adjust to your desired salinity.

    Volt meter

The GFCI will save your life in circumstances similar to yours. You got lucky. You also need a grounding probe to send the power to ground in the case of a short circuit. The bad part is that if there's a short circuit the GFCI will shut down your tank. The good part is that it won't kill you.

Beginner 55 Gallon "Simple" Reef Tank

My favorite Mushroom coral is the Ricordea Yuma. They are attractive, available in many color morphs, and their "tentacles" provide extra surface area for gathering light. They can also be easily fed directly (chunks of seafood) making them less dependent on lighting for sustenance.

    hypo vs copper

IMO Copper is much much easier. An effective dose is easily more than enough to damage many species of fish though. Ensure the fish species you are medicating are not overly sensitive to copper. Hypo is far safer I believe even if it requires some extra vigilance. Always remember that water...
