    New 55 gal set-up

The stocking is pretty good For after the tank is fully cycled. I’d skip the mandarin for now. You can have both a flame angel and a royal gramma. Add your stock slowly after the cycle is done. You should quarantine each fish for 30 days to prevent disease from getting into your tank, treat...

Advice on my Kenya tree coral

If it was fine before the new lights they are probably too bright. Turn them down then slowly increase over a couple weeks.

    Sump size?

It wouldn’t be ideal because of the dimentions . A 20 gallon long would be a good choice for a 55. It has A large enough volume (it won’t be full, maybe 12-14 gal), it will fit under a 55, and most important it is shallow so you can access it For maintenance.

    Newbie 24 gallon all-in-one reefer.

Again, because you only have a 40 gallon tank that is way over stocked with big fish all aggression will be exaggerated. I also like blue legged hermits.

    Help

Doesn’t look good. Frankly you don’t want a carpet anemone. it will eat all you fish, possibly your inverts and your hand. They are not good in aquarium.

Nitrogen cycle taking forever on 500 gal setup

I’d get a different test. I like to use the seaChem ammonia alert badge. It doesn’t make sense that the levels never go past that point.

    Sick power brown

The problem with that is you have now contaminated your 75 with copper. Copper treatment needs to be done in a bare bottom dedicated hospital/quarantine tank. Because you’ve used copper in it you can’t do inverts or coral.

    Sick power brown

Clearly both fish have ich. I assume you didn’t quarantine. You need to treat all the fish in your 75 not just the visibly sick ones. It is safer. I’d recommend hypo salinity over copper. Copper is a poison. you need to bring the salinity of a hospital tank down to 1.09 over a couple...

    Newbie 24 gallon all-in-one reefer.

Brooklynella is a different disease. Clowns are prone but it is contagious to all others. Likely they had it just not bad until they went into a very small QT and were treated with copper which is a poison, too much stress.

Looks more like brooklynella. Look it up. The treatment is NOT copper.

    Sorry I have no idea.

    WHAT KIND OF ANEMONE?

I don’t think it’s an anemone. Looks more like a worm of some sort.

    Newbie 24 gallon all-in-one reefer.

. I would not recommend more fish For several reasons. first, you already have way too many fish for your 40 gal. If my count is right, you have 6 small fish which are about the right number and size for a 40 gal. Then you have 3 tangs and a fox face, all too big and inappropriate for a 40...

    hello! new tank owner

Agreed. Lions and small fish don’t mix. About a pound of live rock per gallon is typical. This provides the biological filtration and recreates a reef like habitat for the fish. I see one power head in your tank. I’d suggest a second one. You want a lot of water movement in the tank, think...

    Newbie 24 gallon all-in-one reefer.

Agree 100% except I’d say get a 125 or give up the tangs. Tangs need that 6’ of length to swim Most 120s are only 4’ a 120 high is 5’ which is marginal for tangs. If you want a mandarin you need the big tank as well. You can’t supply a mandarin with enough food constantly in a smaller tank...

    Beginner Reef Light

I’d look at the mars aqua LEDs. I think you can find them on eBay Maybe Amazon. They are decent lights. Usually there are 2 adjustable channels. One for blue and one for daylight. You can adjust them to what suits your aesthetic. One would be enough for a 29 gal.
