Can I speed up the Curing process of Rock?

    No idea. Maybe cyano stains.

    This algae good for refugium?

Should do fine. I had some and the fish ate it all.

Tank is Close to Cycling but...

Prime will slow it down. The ammonia is food for the bacteria. The goal of the initial cycling is to build the bacteria population up to a level it can handle the waste in the tank. The cycle never really stops, it is the process where waste is detoxified by bacteria. The initial part is...

Can I speed up the Curing process of Rock?

Nice. The pink/ purple you see is not coraline.

Tank is Close to Cycling but...

As long as ammonia is still measurable you have a ways to go.

    Caulerpa

It depends on the state regulations. A local fish shop would likely know.

Can I speed up the Curing process of Rock?

When I cure rock I usually start with fresh water for the first week or two. Initially it is just to get rid of dead stuff and that will happen in fresh or salt. Once the smell starts to go away I switch to salt.

Can I speed up the Curing process of Rock?

Hard to say. If it dried it it may.

Can I speed up the Curing process of Rock?

Keep changing the water. When the ammonia decreases things are getting better. I’d say you’ll need at least 3 weeks. Adding prime will slow the process down because it binds up the ammonia. Adding bottled bacteria won’t hurt and may help.

    Algea, Diatoms & Cyano

Neither nitrates or phosphates are as low as they appear. The algae is using it up. Your tank is still young and will go through phases where it is really ugly. It hasn’t hit the point where it is stable that can take a good year.

I don’t know what it is but not a bristle worm.

    Moving aquarium

I’d get new sand. It will get stirred up big time and can cause water quality issues in the future. I moved my old tank several times and it went well. I just went slow and methodically. I’d invest in several rubbermade tubs. You can transport coral and fish in those. I’d have new water...

    quarantine tank

I just use a tiny bit of the alkalinity soln I usually use from the BRS 2 part. As long as pH is above 7.5 you should be fine. It won’t take much to increase the pH al hyposalinity.

    quarantine tank

Rid ich would not be my first choice. It is more for fresh water. I don’t believe malachite green is particularly good at getting rid if marine ich. It is great for freshwater Ich. Hypo salinity is my first choice. After that copper safe then cupramine.

    quarantine tank

I wouldn’t mix treatments. Formalin isn’t a treatment for ich. Malachite green contains copper, that is where the green color comes from it probably wasn’t at a therapeutic level. Ich is cyclic and the spots will come and go. You are probablyOK at 1.010 but I’d drop it to 1.009. Has your...

    Tiny little "worms"?

Don’t worry about them. They are part of the clean up crew.

    Tiny little "worms"?

You could touch it, fire worms hurt more. It really doesn’t matter. Both are part of a healthy system.

    quarantine tank

They do fine in hypo. How hypo is your QT. It needs to be between 1.008 and 1.009 the whole time, 4 weeks. Needs to be tested with a calibrated refractoneter daily not a hydrometer. If the specific gravity goes above that it restarts the clock. I kept a powder brown and Naso together in...

    qt and treating

No mandarin. It will starve to death in a small tank. They need a large well established tank to survive. Minimum 90 gallon with a sump (bigger is better) and at least a year old. Because your fish were in the display prior to being treated for ich you need to leave the tank fallow, no...

    qt and treating

Were the clowns in your display when they developed ich? When you add another fish to QT the time starts over. This is never a good idea. It is best to quarantine one at a time. Don’t get a lion till your other fish are out of the QT. I wouldn’t treat with cupramine unless the disease is...
